Don't be so stupid next time! You've been told a thousand times not to send money to people!!! Having to pay money to get a loan MAKES NO SENSE!!! HELLO, DUH!!!!!

sloop_sailor
Shame on you. You should have known it was a scam when they wanted you to send money to them as "insurance" to secure a loan. There is no legitimate loan company that would ask this as a requirement. A very hard learned lesson indeed. The most you can do is report the crime to the proper law enforcement agency. The chances of you recovering your loss is probably slim to none.

If you needed 16k, why would you send them 4200?
You might be SOL..get a lawyer.

Well, you learned a valuable lesson...NEVER send money to anyone who promises you more money in return. You can file with the BBB and you can contact the police, but most likely you are out 4,200.

It's Me
Nothing you can do. You should have been more careful in the first place.

hdoyle1967
Yes you have been the victim of fraud. You do not have to send any money to get a loan. This is what they tell you so you will pay a certain amout of money and then they take off with it. Sorry you should of call BBB.org first. Never get a loan that you have to send money to anyone. Its the oldest scam in the book, take care Heather

If money was exchanged, contact your local news station, the FBI and also contact your sheriffs department. The news station can help with this as well as air a segment that would be beneficial to other citizens.

Anytime someone wants money in order to give you money should be a "heads up" for you to question the companies ethics.

Never send money in advance for a loan, no legitimate lender does this. Sorry, but you got taken. Your money went bye bye.

You're probably going to have to chalk this up to a learning experience. I can't believe people still fall for these scams.
