I have cant get any credit, can buying a phone with no credit check really help me rebuild it?
I cannot get a mobile phone, catalogue, store card or anything that involves credit no matter how small, but I can get a mobile phone through a no credit check finance company which promises it helps rebuild your credit by making monthly payments, has anyone tried this or know if it will help? http://www.phonesonfinance4u.co.uk

No it will not do anything. The only way is to get into a phone company that pulls your credit and gives information to any of the three credit companies.

They will give you a mobile phone, but you will have to put down a big deposit. It is worth it though - I rebuilt mine by getting a cell phone. Then later a car, and then a credit card...

That sounds a bit dodgie to me, I think I would pass on that one if I was you.

I was asking myself the same question a few days ago and I found out that most cell phone providers do not report to your bank. So if you want to build your credit, make sure that yours does. Oh and make sure they don't only do, if there is something negative to report.

the only way is to get a credit is to perchase a item on credit if you pay the bill each month then your credit rating would turn good but i am quite sure you know this anyway

Are you a salesman for this company? seems this is a blatant advert for their products.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking here.

Are you looking to buy a phone, and are asking if that's a good way of going about it? Short answer, no, for reasons that other people have already posted. Get prepay.

Or are you asking how you can get credit? If so, the first thing that you need to do is to get on the electoral roll - this is how they check that you live where you say you live, so if you're not on it they have no way of verifying your address. Also get a landline phone if you don't have one already, as most credit card companies require this for some reason.

Your next step is to get a credit card. Believe it or not, it is actually easier to get a credit card through a bank than it is to get any type of store card or anything like that. If you have a current account at any bank or building society, then go there and apply for a card, as this will usually be accepted. They will probably only give you a £500 limit, but that doesn't matter - the point is for you to show that you can be trusted with a credit card and will pay it off etc. The credit limit will be increased over time. If you don't already have a bank account then go open one now, and apply for the card at the same time.

Anyway, I've been there myself - I've never had *bad* credit, but I'm an immigrant so I arrived here with no credit history in this country. Just remember that it will take time and you need to do it one step at a time.

All that said, I'm assuming that you're employed full time and don't have outstanding debts - these factors obviously affect your ability to get credit.

To start rebuilding your credit you may want to get a secured credit card from your bank. It works just like an unsecured card and has an interest rate. It's really effective because since it 's really 100% of your money that interest is being charged to , you are less likely to run it up and not pay it. And you will more than likely to make the payments on time to avoid geting hit with unneccessary interest on money that is already yours. After a few months it becomes habit and benefits you well. Before you know it you will have approved offers coming in the mail

better to get a guaranteed credit card (you pay deposit up front) and then each month buy a little with it and pay it off in full without fail. this WILL rebuild your credit rating (well it did for me)

No... unfortunately luxury items like phones are not credit based...its not a loan or a financial medium. Does your regular telephone company (or anyones for that matter) appear on your credit report...nope. The only way a cell phone gets on your report is in a negative sense say if you don't pay your bill and are referred to collections. I recommend trying for a gas station card to build credit. If that does not work try Capital One or HBSC for a card... they have special cards for those with bad credit and its open... not secured... and mainly they are big time credit card companies that don't just soley prey on folks with bad credit killing you with 25% interest rates.

In order to build up credit and establish a good credit, you must show a number of stabilizing attributes. Most notably, your report must prove to the lender that he will get his money back. Here are some suggestions:

OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT
Open a bank account and use it responsibly. This is the first step in establishing a financial history.

CO-SIGN
One way is to piggy-back onto someone who already has a good credit history established and is willing to co-sign. Once the co-signing has occurred, you simply make payments on or before the due date. In time you will have established a credit history.

SECURED CREDIT CARD
Apply for a credit card. Shop around and only apply for a card if you can meet the lender's requirements. Responsible use (spending within your budget and paying your bill on time) will help you build a good credit history.

DEPARTMENT AND GASOLINE CREDIT CARDS
Since gasoline credit cards are not revolving (cannot carry a balance forward month-to-month), often they are easier to obtain than regular credit cards. Similarly, some department stores offer revolving credit for a specific purchase and this is sometimes easier to establish. It is also a great way to establish credit.

That sounds fishy to me - Cell phone companies usually ask for a deposit for people with bad credit or no credit - (they usually are pretty hefty for Sprint and Verizon)

I'll offer you some other ways to build your credit:

1. Go to your local bank and ask for a secure credit card - however they will ask you for a deposit (this deposit is to guarantee that you will not default on your Credit Card and this deposit is usually your credit line). The secure credit card reports to the credit agency regularly but the downside to this is that you have to pay annual fee. After 1-2 years you will establish yourself a credit :)

2. Store Credit Card like Bestbuy - (the one that doesn't have Visa or Mastercard logo) is usually the best way to establish credit though in order to build your credit it is better to use it regularly

"Limited offer subject to status, availability and 12 month airtime contract. After 11 months you may terminate your contract at any time by giving 30 days notice.
Itemised billing and payment by Direct Debit are mandatory.
"You must have:

- Your own valid Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard) or Debit Card (Maestro, Solo or Delta)
- A valid bank account with a Direct Debit facility"

To quote the sites terms.

The Interest is 100.5 % !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

This is variable, they may up it at any time!

Thats twice the cost of the pay as you go handset, WHICH, are DOUBLE the price of the handset in a shop!

These are pay as you go phone's!

You sound sensible, for asking, and getting opinions.
you will be just the sort of fool theyre looking for, if you sign up.

angie
i know its stupid but you need credit to get credit...once you have bought something on credit and then payed it off it lets other companies know you can be trusted to pay money back which gives you your credit rating
