your estate will bear the burdens. If you owe more than you're worth, then the creditors will have to write off the loans.

Likely the co-signer of said loans, if there are any.

ARe you married? IF so, your spouse is left with that debt......

If not, then they will sieze any assets you have and sell them off. The rest is written off and charged back into their fee and rate structure for everyone else.

Crazyjester9
Fordman is right, your estate will be responsible for the debts assuming there are no co-signers.

You should check out this non-profit:

Maybe you won't have to worry about your loans after all...

I just submitted my donation for an entry, and only those of us with outstanding school loans qualify for the drawing.

Stay alive, and keep on living.

You have credit card debt, and you wan to pay it off as quickly as you can. We will assume that you are going to stop creating more debt. You have changed your ways. You also understand that paying credit card<!--balances with a consolidation loan or rolling it into a mortgage isn't paying it off. In fact, paying a lower interest rate, but paying on the debt for many more years, usually means paying much more, not less.Okay, so you really want to be rid of that credit card debt.

First, you have to understand that not all debt is the same. Of course you know this. Some of your cards have a higher interest rate than others.Find and budget the money to start paying down those balances. If you order pizza every week, for example, you may be spending $60 or $80 per month right there-->If you are serious about getting those debts paid, you may have to eat $4 frozen pizzas for now. Do what you have to do, and determine how much you can apply towards the debt each month.

Your cosigner or estate..if your a dead beat..the loan holder will eat it.

Your estate will have to pay. Student loans, if made while you were a minor. would have to be paid by your parents. If they were on any additional loans, parents would have to pay them, too.

countrygirl
If you are under age your next of kin has to paay, but if no close kin the goverment has to eat it.
