If you have poor credit, chances are... you will not be approved for any credit card, unless it's "secured" meaning you have to put a deposit on it & your deposit will be your credit line, whenever you charge it, you will still have to pay it back like a normal credit card, only difference is the finance charge is very high. Your better off just using your Visa Checkcard from your bank. The money comes right out of your checking account. There's no need to worry about paying it back or paying high a high APR. |

Yup, don't trust these random websites. Go to a legitimate bank and get a secured credit card, which is the only type of card available for people with poor credit. Use it to improve your credit score. |

If you get a credit card, you will not solve your problem long term. You will be in debt for the rest of your life. You CAN work through this. Go to www.daveramsey.com and listen to the show for a while. Borrow his Total Money Makeover book from the public library. You CAN get out of this situation but you're going to need to set a budget to do this. It will be SO worth it. My dh and I paid off a truckload of debt this way. Guess what? Now we can sleep at night! |

apply for a department store credit card and charge only as much as you can afford to pay in full the following month when the bills comes in- after six months apply for another department store credit card and do the same- you don't have to charge a lot- just prove to them that you are a good paying customer and a low credit risk and then apply for a visa or mastercard- preferably with your own personal local bank that you have a checking account with - if after two-three years apply for an American Express card and that will look really good on your credit report. |

I would try to fix you current credit situation by getting the negatives deleted from your report first. That will open the door to a better credit card.
If you need more tradelines, I would probably try to get a Target card and a secure CC. Make sure the CC doesn't report as secure on your report.

Yeah LizardQueen, i'm the bad guy.
I work my @$$ off to provide for my family. I pay my bills on time and I do without the things I cannot afford. Then other people don't pay their bills, ruin their credit, and file bankruptcy. This makes prices go up and my family has to tighten their belts a little more.
