There are 3 main companies in the UK that you can use to get a credit card with poor credit. These are (listed in order of preferance and most likely to give you a card):

Aqua
Capital One
Vanquis

All the url's for their site are below, and you can apply online.

Bear in mind that you should only apply for one at a time, and only a couple in 6 months, or you will damage your credit rating further.

Also the because you are a bad risk in terms of credit, the interest rates are very high! If you fill your card and leave it like that, you can very quickly rack up massive interest charges, so be very careful with its use, and try not to leave much of a balance on the card.

Well, capital one- but there rate is about 37.7%- its extortionate. You could have a look at www.moneysavingexpert.com- he will give you some good pointers on how to get the best deal at the moment if you have bad credit rating.

Bad credit problem can be caused due to a number of situations. The credit card choices available to bad credit people allow them to rebuild their credit history. Financial products that help bad credit people are prepaid credit cards or debit cards, secured bad credit cards, unsecured bad credit cards. My score was low and I got a credit card from Orchard bank

You can find a complete list of credit cards for people with poor credit here:

http://www.asapcreditcard.com/poor-credit.html

Although these offers tend to have higher interest rates (and additional fees) when compared to 'standard' credit cards, they'll give you the opportunity to build and improve your credit score over time. Eventually, with regular on-time payments-- you'll be able to qualify for better offers with lower APR's and less fees. But for now, these are your options...

Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

Your credit did not get bad overnight and it's not going to get better overnight, you are going to have to work at it and be patient. There is a website I found that can help you get reestablished. There are some excellent articles about what you can do but you are going to have to work through the steps. See www.1-800BadCredit.com and check it out.

i also have a bad credit report, but i have a Capital one credit card. as long as you keep up the repayments on time its a good company. plus you get to choose the card design. cool..

Orchard Bank and First Premier Bank are pretty easy cards to get with poor credit.

Orchard Bank's a good place to start if you're looking to rebuild your credit. Aside from that, you may also want to consider secured credit cards. While you will have to put a deposit upfront to get the same amount of the deposit in a credit line, you can think of this as building credit with a savings account, because that's pretty much how a secured credit card works. As long as you make small purchases that you can pay off in full on time every month, usually anywhere from 9-18 months you get the deposit back (with interest) and either the card coverts to an unsecured one, or you're offered a better card altogether.

If you have a poor credit rating, I would avoid getting a credit card, especially one for people like yourself. Have you seen the interest they charge?.I know of one that charges 177%.
Get yourself a prepaid one, all the benefits of a credit card but none of the drawbacks for missing a payment. You set your own credit limit.

Try Capital One

I think some of the other users are giving some good info. I would just say that I have been in the credit and collections biz for 12 years and I do not have and would not get a credit card unless it was as a last option. Credit cards are the #1 cause of debt in this country and are very hard to pay off if you over use. There are better ways to improve your credit. If you really want one I would try to apply for something like a gas station card or a retail store card like sears or Target. This will allow you to use credit for things you would normally buy anyway and build your credit at the same time. They usually have better points/reward programs also. Just make sure you pay off at the end of the month and stay away from making the minimum if all possible.
