if i have Read it right it is your name but not addresses. you could a find the addresses and post it yourself or b ring up the company and explain to them. it happened to me a bill came to my house my addresses not my name it was someone who had never lived at my house. so i phoned then explained it to them and they asked me to prove so i did and they never bothered me again. |

errrrrrrrrrrrr its not your debt ......and not your address , i think they need more proof than postie thinking you are one and the same.
I would still contact them tho to get this debt wiped if its not yours |

Contact the company and find out what the hells going on. Chances are that it's nothing to do with you. |

As others said, contact the company and straighten it up. Then, make sure you pull a free credit report from at least one of the three reporting agencies, such as Experian, and make sure there isn't something on your report that doesn't belong to you.
This could keep you from having to pay a lot to go to court later. |

How can anyone make you pay a debt that doesn't belong to you. I would ring the company and explain the situation and then stick it back in the post saying it had been delivered to the wrong address. The postman cannot just make assumptions. |

Send them a letter, keeping a copy for yourself, that it is not your debt. I'd ask how they got your name, and tell them it would appear there is an error, and you would appreciate them letting you know that it has been corrected.
Here's another thought. Go to your bank, show them the letter. While your bank has nothing to do with it, they may be able to give you a tip on how to handle it. They deal with debt on a daily basis.
Going to a lawyer may not be necessary at this time but be prepared to get one if this just doesn't go away. |

Your postman has a rather relaxed attitude to his job! Suppose all postmen ignored addresses but just randomly delivered post to people whom he happened to know had the same name? Why ever did you accept the letter?
A firmly written letter to the company with a threat of a solicitor's letter is called for here. |

Get in touich with the company and tell them its not your debt. |

If its not your debt then contact the company and ask them to clarify where they had got your details from and let them know that you will be seeking legal advice. Then contact your CAB or law centre and get advice and assistance to draft a letter to them. Apparently, this sort of thing happens quite often. As long as you are clear its not yours you can fight it. Good Luck!! |

If you owe the money, yes you must pay. If you do not owe the money, then you do not have to pay. |
