brando | I have several credit cards from years ago that I never was able to pay? |
I am always getting letters telling me to pay the debt and the amount keeps getting higher. I am not able to pay these off in full. What should I do? What can the companys do to me if they are not paid (besides bad credit). I live in Texas. Additional Details They are all from about 5 years ago. I never canceled any of them cause I was young and dumb. I dont even have the cards anymore I cut them up and trashed them. |

Texas SOL for open accounts (credit cards) is 4 yrs. So they can't sue you. If you are wanting to clean this up, call the collection agency and offer a payment arrangement that you can afford. Be firm about it.

Check this out, you will see whos its really helping here, HOW MUCH do you own? 25K 30K, then file BK 13, just make sure youj don't make that much money, because they will make it pay it back. If less than like 5K, then NEGOCIATE via mail, there are several forums where you can get help to negociate a debt, and reduce it down to pennies on the dollar, sometimes just a 10cents on the dollar OR, even completly erase them, usually by mail using techniques contact me i will give you the tacticals for free, HOWEVER if you don't want to deal wit this, just go here and get a loan with your bad credit from poeople that want to lend money to people, they are not BANKS check it out, I always give this last advice to people like you:
http://www.prosper.com/join/HOMEBANKER
You can have them deposited in your bank account in 6 days. |

As an FYI… per the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) http://www.ftc.gov/freereports , there is only one source for you to get a free credit report from all three credit repositories, “annualcreditreport.comâ€. https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp |

You have multiple routes that you can take.
Credit couseling - they work for the credit cards companies and were actually started by visa. It will show on your credit as a third party intervention and can make it worse.
Debt consolidation - Shows on your credit as third party intervention, takes years to pay off, end up paying more then what you actually owe.
Debt settlement - Some companies don't show on your credit at all, they are able to settlement the amounts for around 40% of what you actually owe. The best one with the lowest minimum requirement is Clear Debt Results. |

You do not say how many years ago, as most agencies <credit cards or otherwise> will just usually charge of the debt and report it to the credit bureaus. You also do not say if you are working full time or not. This is not enough to evaluate your situation. What the companies can do is garnish your pay or take the big ticket items you purchased <if any>. Your best bet if possible is a bankruptcy it can actually improve your credit and protect your assets. Please contact and atty from your state as soon as possible, as I am a paralegal in another state I do not know your states laws on certain parts of bankruptcy filing. Sorry you live in Texas. In Indiana you would be free and clear. |

I hate to inform you of this, but, this can be taken to a federal matter and you can be taken to court, your house can be taken your car, land all kinds of stuff like that. Your credit of course is going to steadily go down the drain. I live in Texas as well, I'm kind of in the same predicament, but it's just one credit card and I'm working on it. My best advice to you would to either make small but graceful payments and get a'hold of a credit consolidation company or something, maybe this one for instance http://www.thecreditexchange.com/consultation Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.
One thing though, getting a car, a house anything from a "Rent A Center" and so forth is going to kill you, I'd watch out on that. |

You should pay those credit cards off soon, because if you don't pay it will be harder for you to get anything in life.. Good luck... |

You need to contact Consumer Credit Counseling. They are a non-profit organization that can help you to consilidate your bills and get the amounts reduced. They will also help you to cancel the credit cards so the amounts stop increasing. |
