You can probably find a small lot that will work with you. Of course your interest rate will be really really high. For example your over priced $5000 car will end up costing you $10,000. The best thing to do is try to clean up your credit then apply for a loan. |

You CAN get a decent car loan, even with bad credit. I've done it, but you'll have to look around. That's one of the BIG mistakes people make...just taking the first offer that's given to them when they go to the dealer. Be smarter than that.
WARNING: DON'T GO TO BUY A CAR WITHOUT HAVING THE LOAN FIRST. The auto dealers will eat you alive and give you a crappy rate. Shop around with lenders who specialize in bad credit car loans. It's a better option, you don't have to take what they're offering if you don't want it, and it's better than dealing with the car dealer's people.
There are usually some nationally based car loan companies who specialize in bad credit car loans who advertise on the page linked below...

Today nothing is impossible. There are many lenders now who give car loans to people with bad credit. reaserch online for a lender that give low interest rate.

Most all auto dealers will sell you a car and finance you but they WILL try to take full advantage of you by offering you horrible rates and terms for the loan. Do yourself a favor and try to save as much as you can to put down on a vehicle to minimize financing costs. |

Normally these loans are more expensive than those offered to borrowers with good credit. The interest rates are higher because the lender bears higher risk. Adverse credit loans have more stringent repayment criteria than normal loans. Skip one payment on a bad credit loan and your rate will rise and you may even have to face a foreclosure. |

I agree the best thing to do is try and clean it up first. I had the same problem after my divorce. Due to my name being on everything, including the things that she received in the divorce, when they went repo or foreclosure it affected me.
I used Drive Financial and while my interest rate is horrible and I'm paying way too much, it is re-establishing my credit faster than paying cash for a car or dealing with credit cards. |
