Cancel them if you never use them, carrying around a wallet full of store and credit cards leaves you open to fraud if your wallet is lost or stolen and your credit will not be affected if you cancel some or even all of them

I wouldn't close them all at once. Space them out over a year or so. Opening and closing a lot of accounts in a short period will lower your credit score.

origamimark
Is up to you. Just cut em up and bin em.

I would close them. For one, there is a chance of them being stolen. The other reason is because they take all that open credit in consideration if you want to open another card (like a Mastercard or Visa). You will have less credit to use because all of those other cards are open.

Close as many as possible, which means all that you don't use. You have what's called too much available credit. If you went for a big loan, or mortgage for a house, you can be denied for the reason of too much available credit. That was one of the first things my mortgage broker told me when I applied for my home loan.
And never check with a credit card company on what you should do. They will all tell you the same thing: Keep ours, we will lower the interest rate for you and waive any annual fees as well. We will also upgrade your status giving you more credit with us.

The more open accounts you have, the lower your credit score...even if they have a zero balance. Get rid of them.

Fod God's Sake YES!!! Cancel any credit card (bank, department store, ...) that you don't use because it is only making you a more likely target for identity theft and fraud. Any open account can be used to charge items and if you aren't the one doing the charging you'll find yourself in a heck of a mess.

I would close the accounts . unless u absolutely need the credit card. sometimes if u have no activity on your card in more than a year u might not have a acitve account. so check with the credit card company and see what they say then always make sure to cut up the credit cards into really little pieces so no one can get ahold of your account or ID.

wjvv
It doesn't hurt you at all. In fact it helps. One of the things that effects your credit score is how many accounts you have open. If you have too many, your score goes down.

hey look debts r debts and u have and have to repay them
dont atall go in debts
i too will pray for u
not to b in debts
b carefull
take care

priya
close them!! having too many cards open actually lowers your credit score!
