Your credit history is yours and yours alone. You carry it with you always and forever no matter where you are or who you marry.
You can have a joint account with someone else, but that id different than credit history. |

No way.
What happens is, if you go to buy a house or a car together your credit histories are combined.
Never allow your future husband to buy a house or a car without your name on it just for the sake of better financing. Please live by these words. Please. |

Nope. Somebody gave you some seriously wrong information. |

NO, it gets linked with your spouse's credit, though. But your credit history is still your credit history |

No, your personal credit history is never erased as a result of getting married. The only thing that will change with your credit as a result of getting married is that your credit history AND that of your spouse will be considered jointly for credit requests. |

It does not get erased. It does not get combined with your spouse.
They don't officially know that you're married since it's illegal to ask for marital status on a loan or consider it as part of an application. This part of the equal rights law changes from back in the 1970's.
If you both apply for a loan, they will pull both your reports, just like to people who aren't married applying for a loan. If you get it, it will be reported on both your histories. |
