Read this about check scams: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre40.shtm
Even if your bank verifies that the check is drawn on a legit account and your bank releases the funds to you, it could still bounce. Counterfeit checks can take a couple months to come back.

I woulnd't have taken a personal check. I would have wanted a cashiers check, But just take it to the bank and tell them with is going on, they will work with you. |

Dont cash it ...its a fake maybe designed to get your bank account number and steal you money !!
NEVER EVER CASH CHECKS FROM UNKNOWN PERSONS
BRING IT TO THE BANK AND HAVE THEM INVESTIGATE IT ...LET THEM CALL THE BANK AND SEE IF IT IS LEGITIMATE |
