Call the cell phone company. They could of made a mistake and maybe the bill is meant for someone else. I know that this has happened to people before. After you get that cleared up with them, then you need to call the collections people and tell them what you found out. |

Call them and ask them why they are asking you for money, it could just be a mistake if you dont have any current/outstanding accounts with this company.
Good Luck |

Send the collection agency a certified letter demanding that they validate this debt. By law they must provide you with proof that you have a legal obligation to repay this debt.
Yahoo is being difficult and will not allow me to post this link without getting an error message, so I'll tell you how to find it.
Go to Creditinfocenter (add ".com" at the end..posting link gives me an error message) Under consumer info click "credit repair" which will bring up a list of links, the 8th item from the top explains debt validation in great detail.
Please note that I am not affiliated with this site in any way. Yes they do sell stuff on there but there is loads of free information to read. |

If it found its way to collections then you might as well ignore it as it already shows as a writeoff on your credit report and paying some 3rd party collections wont take it off and you will be less 250 |

You can dispute anything on your credit report for free. Don't be tempted to use those pay sites for credit disputes. Go to one of the 3 major agencies - TransUnion, Experian, or whatever the 3rd one is I forget, go directly to their website. I'm not entirely sure how you get your report, you may have to pay for it initially, but the disputes are free. Your collection letter may indicate where to go. |
