dont use it in a bar
dont use it for gasoline
do not get cash advance's
remember the higher your credit limit the more you are liable to spend so have the limit capped at 1000 or even better still 500.
use it responsibly and keep in mind you haved to pay your bill every month or you will be slapped with steep interest rates
Dont become miss or mr popularity by buying things for friends.

Until you are sure that you can handle the responsibility that comes with it, delay using it. You'll want to use it....don't.

Do:
When you have a balance, pay it all off.
Pay on time.
Know who/where to call if the card is ever lost or stolen.

Don't:
Buy things you wouldn't buy with cash you already have.
Use it while drunk.
All others to use it...they won't pay you back.

Cut it in half! My philosophy is don't spend money you don't have. Paying the entire amount owed each month sounds nice but if you are able to do that then why do you need the card? I guess if you are trying to build credit maybe, but from now on I just save up and use cash.

First watch the interest rate if your trying to get your credit established make a small purchase., pay it off then you apply for ones with good rates. Always pay on time and pay a little more then the payment. Hide it away for emergency's like a doctors visit etc. People get in such a mess with credit card use it wisely.

Okay the biggest thing is to make sure that you pay the full amount owing every month.
credit cards can be great for building credit.
but the can also ruin your life. just be smart.
don't use it when u know u won't be able to pay it in full when the bill comes in.

THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS CHOP IT IN HALF.

DO: pay off the entire bill every month.
DO: charge small things to it every month.
DO: find out about rewards programs associated with the card, and USE them.
DO NOT: leave a balance, unless you're on a promotional 0% period.
DO NOT: max out the card. Ever.
DO NOT: forget the date when the bill is due.

Only spend what you are absolutely sure you can pay off when the bill comes due.

Never ever pay the bill late, even if you can only pay the minimum balance (worst case scenerio). They will hike up your interest rate!

Read the fine print too!!
