IF THE DEBTS JOINT YOU ARE BOTH LIBEL FOR THE DEBT
IF YOU HAVE A CCJ THEN THE DEBTS BEEN TO COURT AND WILL NOT BE REMOVED UNLESS THE DEBT IS PAID IN FULL .
AS YOUR PARTNER HAS DONE A RUNNER YOU ARE NOW LIBEL FOR THE FULL AMOUNT TO THE COURT.
UNLESS YOU CAN TRACE THE PERSON THAT'S DONE THE RUNNER THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO IS PAY THE DEBT.
ONCE PAID YOU WILL RECEIVE FROM THE COURT A SATISFIED LETTER SAY THE DEBT IS PAID.BUT THE CCJ WILL SHOW ON YOU RECORD AS SATISFIED AND YOU TECHNICALLY SHOULD GET YOUR CREDIT RESTORED.
BUT THE FINANCE COMPANY'S WILL SEE THAT YOU HAVE HAD A CCJ AND MAY ASK WHAT IT WAS FOR YOU WILL NEED TO TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY WILL TAKE THAT INTO ACCOUNT .
HOPE THIS HELPS

Contact a lawyer. I don't know if there's anything you can do, but talk to an expert.

There are mortgage companies that may look at your case try Kensington mortgages..they are based in Skipton north yorks....the rates are slightly higher and depending on the amount of the ccj....you will be asked to explain why this happened too....it takes around 6 years for you to be free of this but other companies may look at this for you if the ccj is satisfied...

Sometimes when you dispute information of your credit report, if they don't resolve the issue in 30 days after investigation they have to removed. There are fees that the credit bureau have to pay to do this, and they don't like to. I did this with Gas company, and they removed it from my credit report. Hope it works for you.

Joint account has joint and several liability which means they can go after either or both parties for the whole debt.
If they can't find your ex then you need to find him!
Old friends, his family, electoral roll, private detective, myspace.com, friendsreunited etc.
When you've found the ex pass the details on to the courts and creditors.

You've really not got a leg to stand on I'm afraid. Your ex hasn't defrauded you and the account was legally in joint names. When you took out the account you signed a statement saying you were both equally liable for all actions on the account.

You can't get the judgement reversed as it's legally correct. You can ask Experion and Equifax (the two main credit scoring organisations in the UK) to put a letter on your file explaining the situation, but in all honesty it won't help you at all. There'll be a court CCJ against a letter from you saying 'I know it's in my name, but I didn't do it. Honest guv.' It's a waste of your time unless you also pay off all the outstanding debts in your name ASAP. That way you prove you're a responsible person and you've done your best to sort things out.

You have to put this one down to experience, accept and move on I'm afraid.

Talk to a lawyer.

You may not be aware that after the 10 years is up...they can refile the judgement and continue pursuit...to the point of garnishment.

For helpful information pertaining to real estate, credit management and mortgages check my blog.

Borrow everything that you can, get a ticket and leave the bum country that used to be so cool

A Lawyer may be able to get a court order to remove it.
