1.Only buy what you need, not what you want.
2. Carry cash, it will make you realise how much you are spending.
3. Reduce, repair, reuse, recycle and use charity shops, clothes are only new when you unwrap them!
Good luck, debt is a terrible thing. |

You can save $100 or more per month by bringing lunch from home to work/school instead of eating out. Even if you bring a frozen "TV dinner" your savings will be substantial. |

Cut back on your luxuries and get the cheaper brands of items instead of the top of the range
Running up credit card bills is never a clever idea but once you have done it there is no getting out of it |

Always send more than the minimum payment. Stay out of malls, if you drive, cut back on unnecessary trips, if you work, carry a lunch. At home, turn off lights when not needed, if you have cable TV, carry only the basic channels. Turn back your thermostat a degree or two. Learn to do your own hair and nails. Don`t buy daily lottery tickets. Shop at WalMart for groceries. This list is a start, sit down and itemize the unnecessary items you can do without. Surprise yourself. |

STOP SPENDING THEN, and CUT UP YOUR CARD, did you know if your credit card limit was £1000 and you paid it off at the minimum payment, it would take you 25 years to pay it off. |

The easiest method of determining you exact status of your credit card debt and your monthly repayment is to compute your monthly income and then calculate the maximum you can pay into your credit card account. Then divide your earnings by your monthly credit card payments. If you find that at least 15% of your earnings are used to pay your credit card debt each month, then your chances of getting trapped by huge credit card debt are high. Besides this debt cannot be eliminated easily.
If you are in the unenviable condition, the best solution is not to use your credit cards and trim your expenses from other areas. This idea may be alien to many, but it is the beginning of the path of saving plenty of money. One of the areas where you can save money is your grocery expenses. Though we all need food to live and some amount of expenses in this area is inevitable, the way in which we spend money on food items, can reduce our monthly bills drastically.

Debt...another our letter word. It is probably the worst of them all. find various ways to save money, i.e. buy only what you need. Maybe you can find a very trusted friend to act as your personal banker someone that you give money to, so that you don't have it, and therefore cannot spend it.
I have yet to run into debt problems...though....I am very adamant about paying bills and credit on time....
Something that works with some phone companies is this
ex:
you get a phone bill for approx. $50( and you have always managed to maintain this amount) so you pay them like $75.
Then the next time you phone bill comes in ummm $50 it would be $25
I tried this with a phone company once an they ended up sending me like checks every month or like 4 months....I then told them that they can keep the money and jut cancel me... |

Plan your meals, write down what you are going to eat for the next week, breakfast, dinner and tea, then only buy what you need.
Cut back on luxuries, again just purchase what you need to use.
Cut back on going out, find free things to do. Buy things from chairty shops and car boots sales.
These are all things that I decided to do so that I could pay my bills off and now I hardly owe anything. I still have fun though and feel like I am recycling etc aswell.
Good luck. |
