I need to rebuild my credit. What are some good SECURED credit cards?

Additional Details
People my credit score is in the mid 400's. Nothing is being reported to my credit report. I obviously don't have the credit to take out a mortgage, hence the question was "I need to REBUILD my credit"

2 best secured cards I know are from http://www.orchardbank.com and from http://www.nationalcity.com/personal/. national city does not allow online secured applications. Call and request a paper form.

They both report as standard (not secured) cards, both convert to unsecured after a year of good payment history, and both have fairly small deposit requirements($250) and reasonable fees.

It's a bad idea to do that. The best way to rebuild is to live on a cash basis or without credit. Chances are you have bills that are reported. So pay those on time and get them reporting to the agencies. that will slowly rebuild your credit. Chances are you took a while to hurt your credit so it will take you some time to rebuild it. Most people that need to rebuild get a credit card and hurt themselves again. If you do things on a cash basis you generally don't make as many spur of the moment purchases which is what most people are hurt by.

Tired of lies
check the Internet and your choice of banks in which you decide to use.

This credit card has no credit check so it is guaranteed. The limit is low at first, but it gets bigger as you pay on time. It is great for rebuilding credit because it reports to all 3 credit bureaus. It is unsecured but it is guaranteed acceptance. Sounds like it be great for you.

Don't build your credit with a credit card bill. Yuck.
Buy something good, solid that will make money not spend it.
Buy a piece of property or a little house you can fix up and rent. You can't make money with junk. Buy and build with something tangible. That is why so many people have major credit problems. If you can't pay for it---don't buy it. The only thing to buy on credit is a house, property and a car.

If you are in a position to have to rebuild your credit, you do not need a credit card. Pay your bills on time for one year and budget. Get your spending behavior under control before you start back into taking out high interest loans.

Another way to build credit is to get a loan at the bank and put it into savings. Repay the loan through an automatic withdrawl. Do not ever touch the money. Good luck to you in learning to control your behavior in the area of your spending.

as opposed to unsecured? I don't understand what you mean by that.
