To build up your credit, first apply for minor credit cards like a jewelry store card (my first one was Kay's Jewelers), department store card, or a gas card. Another way to build credit at first is to go to a rent-to-own store and have them extend you credit on a piece of furniture or electronics. Tell them up front you are interested in giving them business only because you expect them to report your payments to credit agencies. They will do this.

Good luck.

how old are you?

get one c.c. w/ a very low limit-say $300.

buy a pair of socks, pay it off.
next month,same thing.
you're establishing a record of paying off the debt on time.
but do not go crazy w/ the card!

You could try to get a prepaid credit card or one that is secured. A lot of them report as a regular credit card and not as prepaid, etc.

Get a student credit card. They are really good, some have no interest rates. They start you off with a low limit and then raise it as you show them you are good to your word. You can get one from Chase if you open an account with them. There's also one called First Financial Bank USA. The only rule is this: even though you don't have to pay it right away, only buy what you can pay for. Good luck!

gotta get a credit card not debit

Unfortunately using a debit card will not help your credit score.

I suggest getting a small, low interest credit card and begin building your credit by making small purchases. Pay off each purchase before you make another one.

It may take a little while to build up your credit, but having a revolving account in good standing will really help your credit out!

two good ways to build credit are, one is getting a small personal loan and pay it off in a few months, two and maybe the easiest way for you is to get a studen credit card these cards have no annual fee and carry low interest rates. Check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com and go under student cards. if you are not a student just go poor or no credit section.

Keep a high amount of money on one debit card, and get a new one. The two will balance your credit score.

You could just take out a credit card, buying something small and easy to pay off with it, pay it off, and then NEVER use the credit card again. This is something one of my high school teachers suggested to me.

Get a loan for something and pay it off quickly. You'll just have to have a co-signer.
