Only if you are able to get a written agreement first that they will remove the items from your credit report...This is called a Pay for Delete agreement. If they refuse to provide such an agreement, it's pointless paying them off.
Never accept verbal promises from debt collectors...they'll say anything to get you to pay. If you don't get the terms in writing, don't pay them. Pay only with USPS money orders. NEVER give them your checking account # for autodebits.

Always pay your just and lawful debts. If others want to be dishonourable rogues that is their problem. Hold your head up high & don't crawl around on your belly like a snake.

Get a deletion letter first before you pay. Collections will gladly provide you one if you settle in full. The idea is to pay and have it removed. Have the letter signed and on official letterhead. Also, make sure the statute of limitations has passed in your state. If it is 2004, chances are it is over.
Yes if that is all you owe then you might as well have perfect credit

I would pay because it is negativly affecting your credit rating. Your credit has already been affected by it - probably. However, by paying them off at least it will show that the accounts were paid and not left in default (unpaid).
Also, since they are from 2004, they are still open and will remian so for 7 years - then they come off.

Slimik is 100% correct...also don't give them your signature...they have a way of moving to other documents
