You probably do have to pay them. Because those are charges that have been calculated from the beggining of that monthly cicle to right up to when you paid it.
But call them and go off on them looking like a pissed off customer...they might just hook you up and credit card companies do not like to compromise their relationships with customers who actually pay their bills.
Good Luck |

I would call and dispute it. Credit cards are hoping you won't notice or give up a fight. To you its only $19. They multiply that by thousands and get millions in free $. I heard a woman from Harvard say this on NPR. I believe her. |

Probably. You can just call the credit card company to make sure, but I'll bet you need to pay it. |

Call customer service. If your payment did not arrive in time to negate any finance charges, you may be responsible. There is usually 7-10 days between a company receiving your check and your account being credited with the payment. |

Yes. Just pay it and get it over with. Its most likely the daily finance charge from the time you paid it off and when it actually hit the account. |

Many credit card companies compound interest daily on the outstanding balance after the first month if you have not paid it in full (you were paying it off in payments) or if you ever got a cash advance. If you paid off the balance before the due date on the statement, you may be able to get the interest written off. You will need to contact the credit card company to request this. make sure you document everything - get the name of the person you talked to as well as a confirmation number. |

If you don't pay it they will then assign late fees and keep billing you.
So pay it on time, but flip your bill over and dispute the charges. I will hazzard a guess and bet that this is Bank of America. They are freaking crooks!
Then sit down and write your congressman and send him/her a copy of the bill showing that they assessed finance charges AFTER you paid the bill in full. Congress is talking about slapping the credit card companies for doing crap like this, give them fuel for their fire and send it to your representative.
Good luck. |

Yep. It was the accrued finance charge for the cycle in which you paid off the balance. It would have showed up on the next billing cycle. |

its because you didnt close it fast enuff.....they are applying the interest on an average DAILY balance....it happened to me too |

Yes this would be the last of the interest charges on the account which would be chargeable. If you pay it now it will not occur any more interest on it. and your balance will be $0.00. Phone them so that you will not get any more interest on the account. They will see that you don't ask them to explain what is left. But expect to pay it. |

Yes. Pay it.
But more importantly, you likely really screwed up your credit score by closing the account. Good luck. |

Call your credit card company and find out what the charge is for. You could have legitimately accumulated the charge that didnt hit until the end of the billing cycle. Once you close an account though, theyre not very likely to work with you. Just for the sake of avoiding the hassle, you might be better off just paying it. Call and ask to make sure this is the last bill you'll be receiving and write down the name of the person you speak to as well as the date and time of the conversation in case you get another bill beyond this one. |

No call them and tell then the card is closed and you dont owe that money. Let them that you checked after you paid and the balance was $0. Now be smart about this remember they will do whatever they can to get the info they need from you. So if they ask yes you do have proof on a fax from them and if they want to push this further you will fax that copy to your lawyer and they can speak to him. Even though this may be a bu*lsh*it statement they at least think that you have something from them stating the 0 balance you dont want to tell them you will fax it back to them because if you dont have it or give them mpore info. What they are doing is illegall and they know it but they try anyway. |

No because account was closed, call up customer service and request that the charge be removed due to your paying acct in full and closing account. Same thing happened to me. |

You might be able to talk to them and get it taken off but some banks are ruthless enough to ruin people for small balances such as this one.....I hope you get it worked out Good Luck. |

Talk to them.
Chances are yes. BUT just to be sure, TALK with them and figure out what these charges are.
We ran into the same problems. |
