Yes you have to cancel that trial membership you agreed to. FreeCreditReport.com ain't free. You will get hit with $14 or $15 monthly fee. They don't make it easy to cancel either.
The only really free site is AnnualCreditReport.com. It's the site mandated by the FTC to allow online access to your free report from each of the three credit bureaus. Reports are free; scores are not. |

For the $1 validation, no. But you have to cancel your membership in freecreditreport.com because, as the fine print in the commercials says, by signing up with freecreditreport.com you are accepting membership to TripleAdvantage. With freecreditreport.com you end up with an annual bill of $79. You pay about $13 every month. You have to cancel your membership in TripleAdvantage within 30 days and that can be kind of a pain in the @ss from what I'm told, so I'd start now if I were you. |

You should have went to http://www.annualcreditreport.com, because free credit report. com will hit you with that credit card thingy and charge one dollar. But, after the trail period you will be hit with a big fee if you don't cancel your membership.
But annual credit report.com is the legitimate site that will give you your credit report without asking for any type of credit card info. It will ask for ss and questions to prove your identity that only they know. |

Go back and check it again. Freecreditreport.com is not a free site. They are a charge site. They offer a service to have your credit monitored. You may have inadvertently signed up for this service.
The government site to get a free copy of your credit report is https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp |
