What this is, is a foreign lottery, which is illegal to participate in the United States. It can actually put a felony on your record. The number they want you to call is in Canada, and they will instruct you to cash the check (which is technically real because it has someones stolen account number on it) and send them a portion for tax/processing fees: This is money laundering (that will put another felony on your record)! |

This is definately a scam. The check is counterfiet i was leary on depositing it into my bank account and I went to a check cashing location, they tried to verify the check and they informed me it was counterfiet and they kept it. The goal of the scam is for you to deposit it into your account and they remove the money from your account and bounce the check leaving you responsible for the money and ripped off. Do Not Cash this check . I also received the same letter and it was addressed to my daughter who is 14 1/2 yrs old. I called the number that appeared on the letter and none of the addresses are on the BBB website I sent the BBB a email describing what is in the letter. I called the number several times and spoke with the same man who kept changing his name. He kept saying to me that if I did not want the check that I could simply just destroy it and he was very defensive. The man did not want to reveal what address he was at. I told him straight out this is a scam and he kept yelling at me. I smell a rat. He also said that I was insulting his intelligence. I am no sucker. |

My sister received the same information from the same company but there is a different bank on the check. I searched the Internet and have not found anything on Euro Liberty Lottery Payment Center. I also checked out banks on names on check and they are real companies but told my sister to rip the check up because she never entered any contest. I believe it is a scam. My mother says that she saw something like this on OPRAH. You will regret cashing that check. You will have to pay that money back and more if you do. |

The famous P T Barnum said There is a sucker born every minute. If you cash this check he will prove this right about you. Its a scam which will cost you more than the amount of the check. Oh yes you will be liable to pay back the $2950.00 you cashed. Plus many fees unknown at this time as well as your identity will be stolen or compromised |
