Call and explain...they "might" be nice.....To avoid this in the future, sign up for their online bill pay and monitor your accounts and pay your bill online. Do this for all your accounts. |

Call them, but before you start explaining what happened tell them you are recording the conversation and with any luck they should treat you with some respect and sort your problem out and refund you , i have done this and it has worked |

It's not an admin fee - it's a late fee and depending on what the bill was for, companies have the right to claim compensation from you under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. (They can actually choose to charge a minimum of £40 and daily interest 8% above base rate on the outstanding debt should they wish.) |

Maybe you should have phoned them, to let them know the payment is on the way. If you ring them now I am sure they will be helpfull |

If its in their terms and conditions they can charge you. In the greater scheme of things £20 is not astronomical. The law allows reasonable charges to be levied...the question is, what is reasonable? |

Usually if you speak with them and explain the situation, and they know you have not been an habitual late payer, but this is a one off, they will accept your side of the story and waive the fee. I'm still receiving mail posted before Christmas so it is possible that you have received your bill late. I got a Christmas card, posted 20 Dec, on 5 January. Today I received some paperwork posted UK dated 22 December. Ring them, explain and hopefully they will comply. |
