I think I can help. I also received the same charge from the same company for $19.99. It was from my debit card. I called Bank of America to notify them of the fraudulent charges. What a nightmare! The bank cannot do anything until the charges clear (they are currently pending). Here is what I've done so far:

1) The website that was mentioned is actually: www.ripoffreport.com

I filed a report with them; I suggest you all do the same. Type VIP in the search engine and my entry should come up at the top. The editor gave good advice regarding how to get your money back if the bank is not very cooperative.

2) File a report with either the national or state Bank Comission for fraud. If you don't know how to reach the Bank Comission for your state, type in "Bank Commission+Your State". It should come up.

3) If the charge has cleared your bank, file a "Federal Regulation E" form. If your bank won't assist you, file a complaint with the Bank Comission.

4) File a complaint with the FTC. Their number is 1-877-382-4357. You have to go through an automated system first that you may have to enter info more than once, but keep plugging away. You will eventually speak to a live human. I categorized this under identity theft.

5) Contact www.fraud.org to file a complaint of internet fraud. You can also call 1-800-876-7060. I called, but the line was consistently busy.

6) Call local law enforcement officials to file a report. Some banks may need to report as proof that money was actually taken from your account without your consent. If they cannot help you, ask them to locate an agency that can.

7) Check your statement to see if there is a telephone number beside the charge. Dial that number to see if it is fraudulent as well. My charge had a telephone number and upon calling, it was a number for Barnes and Noble. I immediately contacted B and N and let them know that a fraudulent company that had withdrawn money from my account was also fraudulently using their telephone number.

The more people and agencies that are aware, the better.
Best of luck to all!

ETA: Yes, this "company" is based in Limassol (Mediterranian). So, it is foreign. However, if enough people raise a fuss, there is a possibility to involve other agencies such as the FBI and Interpol. The FTC files reports with other law enforcement agencies. So, don't give up and lament because it is on foreign soil. The more people who file complaints, the louder the voice that cries out for justice. I checked my acount again. No MID# yet. However, since this is a scam, do you really expect a valid MID#?

I saw the charge on my debit card 7/13/07 but mine reads VIP tune Limassol CY and no phone number. The bank will remove it but I have to file a police report, sign some papers (which means taking off work to get to the bank and police station) cancel my card and sign to get another one. The charge was the same amount $29.99. I am not sure where it came from but I do not use itunes or download music. I have made some purchases online recently. These people need to be shut down. You might want to run ccleaner on all your pcs to be on the safe side.

Go to Ripoffcreditreport.com. Its a website that thousands off people use to compare notes on credit collection agencies. It gives you wonderful tips on getting stuff removed and how to put them in their places. Hope this helps. Just type the companies' name into the search engine there.

We had a charge for $29.99 appear on our Visa account as well. We have shopped on Amazon but usually use another credit card. We called Bank of America to dispute the charge. They said it would take 4-6 weeks for the credit to appear on our account. The agent at Bank of America told us that he had handled one of these charges yesterday and that he was familiar with the fraud.

Same here... $29.99
Here is what i found:
The company is based in cypress. It is fraud. They do have a website, but it is not on any search engines. It appears to be owned by SMS INTERACTIVE which also does not show on search engines...

I just discovered the $29.99 charge today. It is listed as "VIP TUNE, LIMASSOL, CY" and was charged on 7/13/07-Friday the 13th OF COURSE!! I called the bank and am disputing it. They said there are other music charges on the account. I told her those were valid but this one from VIP TUNE is a fraudulent charge. Thanks to all the answers I saw here I let the Dispute Department know about this. Hopefully this will be the end of it but we have to wait 45 days for them to re-butt the dispute. Heck of a long time to wait to find we are honest people!! FYI-we think the card number got stolen from yourmusic.com or emusic.com. Those were the only 2 sites we visited with this number.

?
Yeah, I just got one too (dated 7/8/2007) On my Citibank card.
I've reported it.

ZinaRae
It's a music download company. Like iTunes. Dispute it and they have to remove it. If they "prove" you made the charge, then you're stuck with it.

Just found this same charge on my credit card, VIP TUNE LIMASSOL, but for $19.99. This card has not been used in months and the only recurring charge is to Godaddy.com for domain names we own.

I'll keep a close eye on our debit cards - that's very scary!

Hey I got one today for 29.99 against VIP TUNES. I called my bank Dispute Dept and they will credit my card within 24 - 48 hours and are sending me a new card!

Check out this site:

http://www.ripoffreport.com/ and search for VIP TUNES and you will see others who have been affected!

I just wanted to add another instance that happened to me yesterday when the Master Card statement arrived. I reported it to my bank. They already issued a credit, but must follow a procedure to give the "other party" a chance to respond.
Fat chance of that happening!!
Thanks for listening.

Check out viptune.com. Its a fraudulent company that has been charging accounts around the US on or around 7/10. Call your credit card company immediately and report the fraud.

I got a similar charge of $29.99 on my MasterCard from VIP Tune Limassol charges appeared on July 10. There is no MID identified, just the description noted. When I called my bank they suggested the account to be shut down immediately.
How did these guys get my account number? This card has been idle for a while and I NEVER use my card number on line, I use virtual account numbers.
I wonder what database got hacked to get all of these account information

A charge for $29.99 to VIP Tune came across my credit card today. I called the company, and the contact person said that someone had just called about the same issue. She had tried Googling it and got no luck. At least I was able to find this Yahoo page.

Mother'f3
wow, how scary :-( I had a subscription to a credit card charge but on my bank statement there was a phone number to call. I hope you can figure this out or most probably you'll see this charge next month too. Check with bbb, they might be able to help you.

I just noticed the same thing on my card and I dont recognize it either. My card company doesnt have any contact info for them either. I am disputing the charge and waiting to see what happens. Do you by chance download music from Wal-mart or use Windows Media for your downloads? I dont do much buying on the internet and somehow wonder if I inadvertently aggreed to some subscription and it would have had to come through them I think. Just wondering.

Same thing for me "VIP Tune Limassol 00" for 29.99
Wells fargo visa debit, use it everywhere.
Going to call in the morning.
I posted this on DIGG so it gets around fast!

EDIT: I just called, was easy and will be credited until the issue is resolved.
Better call ASAP to get it fixed.

add another to the pile.

a 7/14 dated charge for $29.99 under VIP Tune Limassol cleared 7/16 on my Visa, canceled card and filed claim through my bank today, customer service seemed as if they have had this conversation many times today and filed the claim very quickly. mine is a personal card used for multiple online/offline purchases.
