Lucky | I see that about £6000 has been taken out of my bank account in an act of fraud- what should I do? |
This has happened before with this bank so I'm thinking of switching banks.
I stupidly did follow an email and fill in all my details which (in retrospect) probably was the cause- can I still get all my money back?

Call your bank.. the number is on the back of your debit card, or I'm sure you can find it through your bank website.
Your bank should have fraud protection on your account.. so they should refund you your money. Just call them and be nice..and the person should help w/ no problems. |

Call the bank and tell them the truth about what happened or they may think its suspicious its happened before and not refund you. The bank will still look into it for you even though you answered one of the emails, they know they are out there and are sympathetic to scams.
Plus why would you change banks? its not their fault your stupid enough to do that, if someone has your details how is the bank meant to predict its not you taking the money out. It takes the bank a while because the claim has to be investigated as people often claim there has been fraud just to get money from the bank. |

these fraud crimes are on the rise.
last year, i had my a/c completely cleaned out by someone abroad booking a double holiday at my expense, and i had not given any details anywhere.
i did not even realise tht my a/c was robbed until my bank charged me fr no funds in the bank to pay the bills and direct debits!
u have to in from the bank immediately, as long as you are not the fraudster yr money should be refunded.
the bank has its own fraud squad who investigate. |

ring your bank and tell them NOW!!!!!! All banks have 24hr helpline for things just like this!!! if you do not act fast you could lose out.

you really need to speak to your bank straight away they should have a fraud telephone number for emergencies which should be open 24 hours take a look on there website. dont bother with the police as they will just tell you to contact your bank.
dont tell the bank you followed an email and gave your details as your probably right that they wont cover the loss , id just forget to tell them and see what happens but whatever you do phone them straight away. |
