Without more information it's difficult to say for certain.
I guess you could try the "hail mary" option and dispute the entry with the credit bureaus in the hopes that the creditor doesn't respond in time to the inquiry from the CRAs and they delete the entry.
There's no guarantee, but it may be worth a shot. Of course even if it works you'll be waiting 30 days or more just to find out which way the CRAs are going to go.
Sorry. |

Contact the credit agency and ask for the Phone # to the reporting agency. Call them and talk to them. Ask them what can be done to remove it. But if they chose not to...It's on your record for 7 yrs here in the States |

Usually it takes contacting the collections company and having them remove it, given that it was taken care of. Even then, its difficult.
You can have the agency write a letter stating you no longer owe the debt, which may help. Good luck! |

''Dispute'' the item-equifax has to either verify, update, or remove the information
http://www.equifax.com (to see your report, dispute an item or contact them by phone)
if u have a copy of your report already, just attach the receipt of payment and send it in to equifax |

Call the creditor and have them fax/send you a copy stating that it is paid and then you have to call one of the three credit bureaus and dispute it from there. Or you will have to wait 7 years from the time it was reported to have it taken off. |

I'm not sure if the CA laws are different than the US, but even if you paid the collection, legally it can stay on your credit report for 7 years after and the collection reporter is not required to remove it simply because you paid the bill, it will just show that they had a collection against you at one point and that it's status is paid. Only after 7 years pass can you request that it be removed without issue.
You could however write Equifax and tell them you want to dispute that line on your credit report and here's the big thing DON'T give them any more information than that. This way they will investigate if it is valid and you have a 50/50 chance that it will be taken off your report. When they contact the company and they see it has been paid you might get lucky and they will let it come off. You can file a dispute online at their website. |

it can be removed but unfortunantly it will not be ASAP, the credit bureaus love to give you the run around and will send you back to the company reporting the information. for future reference NEVER MAKE A PAYMENT without written proof that they will remove the item.
1. do you have a cancelled check? money order?
2. final bill or proof directly from the company saying it was paid? (if not call them and get them to send/fax you a letter saying the account has been paid in full and they are no loner reporting it)
3. once you get items 1 &2 call the bureau and tell them the issue (90% chance they will do nothing, but note your acct) you will have to write a letter to the credit berau thats reporting the acct (certified mail) with copies of your proof.. make copies of everything for your files
4. follow up the day they receive it (you will get excuses, its being processed)
5. after 3-5 weeks youshould get a response, they have 30 days legally to respond to you. if not, you can sue them.
hope this helps you can email me if u have any questions or for a sample of what to write at missdisla@aol.com. |

I recently had a notice removed from my report. Contact the company who issued the notice and tell them you need this removed from your credit report. Ask them what they need to remove it from your report.
Good luck. |
