My best advice to you is if its just 2 or 3 things behind, try to work with the companies. If that doesn't help go to a NON-PROFIT credit counselor. It is important that they are a credit counselor because companies work with them. They will get the companies to lower payments, apr, etc. and pay them off. DO NOT go to a debt settlement company. They do nothing for you. They charge for the service, don't pay the companies (thats why companies don't work with them) for several months until they have enough money for you to work out a settlement. Companies don't offer them anything they would offer you. So you would be paying them to do something you could do yourself. If a credit counselor doesn't work out either then go to the option of maybe settling but don't hire a debt settlement company. Then next option would be bankrupcy. Also if you go to a credit counselor it helps your credit. If your credit is already bad, it will help raise your score in the long run. Hope this helps! |

It took you a while to get into this mess, it'll take a while to get out.
First, put the condo plans on hold.
Step 1: "I solemnly swear, that I will never use a credit card, or get a car loan, ever again."
Step 2: Start selling stuff.
Sell so much stuff the kids think they're next.
Step 3: Get a detailed written budget
By "detailed", look at the answer I gave to this question:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtsbidcSfKoQ5nBT9Ws16gHty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080517104639AA7q67x&show=7#profile-info-bjht6NBYaa
Before the month begins, sit down with a sheet of paper, and write down EVERYTHING you plan on spending money on.
Start with the essentials:
Food (beans & rice, $15/week)
Shelter (the cheapest apartment you can suffer through)
Clothing (second-hand)
Transportation (if you have payments, sell the car and buy a $2,000 beater)
Utilities (cut out HBO)
Then, pay the minimums on what you owe.
Then, save up cash.
Once you have $1,000, start attacking the smallest debt.
When it's dead, attack the second-smallest. Etc.
This will take 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 years, depending on your income, debt level, and intensity.
Once that's done, scream it from the mountaintops
" I'M DEBT FREE !!!!!!"
With no payments, you now will have money to save for big emergencies (like losing a job). Save up 6 months expenses, cash in the bank.
Whew. That took a lot of effort.
Next goal: start saving for the house. |

Take a sheet of paper and list everything you have to spend money on like rent, electric, food, gas, etc. Then look at your income. After the reality that there's not enough income to cover the expenses, it means you have to reduce expenses. Don't buy Starbucks coffees or anything that isn't absolutely necessary to survive. Shut off lights when you leave a room, raise the thermostat so you don't use as much a/c, drive slower and conserve gas, no frills at the grocery store - use store brands (many are made by the same company as the name brands). When you have a few dollars extra, put them against the debt.
You can also talk with a debt consolidator if you have a lot of debt and they can help you to manage your money and payments. In some cases, they can get interest reduced, etc.
Good luck. If you want it, you can do it! |

Start with a list of everything you owe. Brainstorm ways to reduce your expenses and increase your income and diligently apply your "extra" money to the debts one by one. Don't take on new debts. You didn't get into debt overnight so you won't get out overnight. Be fair to yourself. Don't go without things... just compromise to cut back. Address the problem and then tackle it... full steam ahead!!! |

This good willing is a nice start. Here are my suggestions :
First, don't make any new debt. Stop using your credit card and start to pay everything in cash. Be wise in expense your money.
Then, list all your debt based on amount, interest, and due date. Call your debtor to arrange reschedule payment. Be discipline with the new payment schedule. Consolidate your debt into one lower rate loan could be an option. Person to person loan is good alternative for debt consolidation. Last but not least, note well that without eliminating your old habits that caused the debt, new problem still could emerge.
Good Luck! |

It would help to have a little more info. You need to stop all unnecessary spending. The smallest bill is what you need to focus on. Pay as much as possible on it until it is paid off while you pay what you have to on the rest. When the first one is paid do the same with the next one. Pay what you have been paying on the first, what you have been paying on this one and anything else that you can spare. Do this until you are done. |

The best way to start is to pay off the debt...!
But how?. Most probably you wont be able to pay off with your finance. If its a small amount you can ask your friends or relatives. Or approach a bank. If you have bad credit then forget about banks. You can then think of applying a loan with loan lenders. This will be a easy one. Take out a DEBT CONSOLIDATION loan and pay off the debt.
After this pay the consolidation loan in monthly installments. The good thing is if you pay the consolidation loan in time your credit level increases.
I hope http://loan-guides.net will help you in getting a bad credit CONSOLIDATION loan online. |

You can go with a debt consolidation company they can help you out planning your debts. They would first see your debts and income and then according to that they would provide you with an affordable debt management plan. So you don't have to do anything....they would contact your creditors on your behalf and negotiate with them on the debt amount and pay them off...

Opt for a debt consolidation loan: The easiest method of getting a debt consolidation loan is to utilize the equity of your home. Equity of your home is calculated and determined by the difference in the amount you have paid and the amount you owe. If the amount you have paid is more than the amount due, you can use it as collateral. This allows you to borrow money on lower interest rates. Besides, you also get tax benefit on this type of loan. Consult your tax advisor before opting for this loan.

1. Pay off your highest rate cards/debts first. STOP USING CREDIT CARDS and pare them down. Revolving credit is a kiler to your budget.
2. Contact your debtors and see if you can negotiate a lower rate of interest in return for discontinuing use of the card.
3. Some agencies offer debt counseling at no charge. Check with your local social services agencies and other non-profits in the area to see if they can help or provide referrals.
Good luck.
