Probably not, the taxpayers will only have to pay it for you, in one way or another. |

No its not because you never know when you might want or have to return, and they will come searching for you. |

Trouble is debts tend to follow you.
I dont think you will be leaving the debt behind! |

Of course not. Besides w/that on your record, then what ever country you go to will probably find out and you'll never get credit there because they'll just think you'll do the same thing there too. "Live there, get credit, spend more than what you got, rack up a huge credit debt and then leave for another country". Stay in the UK and live with the consequences. You got yourself into debt.....live with it! |

Pay your own bills. You made the contract, now live up to your word.
Besides, it will cost you a ton of money to pick up and move someplace new. There will be travel costs, housing and food and transportation costs once you arrive, etc. Until you get a job, you'll have to live on savings. If you try to come to the US, it might be years before you get a work permit. It could cost you more than the £15,000. It might be cheaper to stay where you are and pay your bills. |

make sure you got to a country thats very under developed like the poor places like africa cause most banks operate in many countries and allied nations well work well together. if its a personal debt like to someone else well see if you dont get caught. |

Be careful where you move to.
The U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand cooperate closely with one another in tax and debt collection. Other closely allied countries will as well. |

The debt will follow you balloning up as it goes. It depends which country you want to go to jail in I suppose. |

I don't think it is advisable; your intention is already leading you to fraud. And besides, if you are leaving this debt with a bank, you will surely face problems since you most probably will not be able to open an account with any other bank. Since your new bank can ask you for a banker's reference before you may operate any new accounts. Ask yourself this question:- how much do you value your reputation? good luck in whatever decision you make. |

Also consider where you are going. Banks are global, all a debt collection compnay has to do is contact a lawyer in the country where you live and sue in court there.
I dread to think what the debt laws are like in some countries!
Better to declare yourself bankrupt before you go - depending on where you are going visa wise obviously.

well, a few years ago i went on holiday, before this the banks that i had credit with took the pi$$ with the extra charges,
so i went on holiday for 2 weeks and came back to find they had charged me a total of 240 pounds in fines, 1 fine for a late deposit, with that fine it put me over my limit so i got another fine for that, as the deposit reached a little late it meant a payment into my credit card was missed and so i got a fine from my credit card company for that along with the going over withdrawn fine.
so i went to the bank to sort it out and the person i spoke with was very rude. but i agreed to deposit 300 pounds that week. i turn up on Saturday to find they had closed, so i used my card (halifax can deposit with the machines) i put my card in, go through all the process of depositing a check, then teh atm eats my card and says the bank had ordered it.
i took the check to a check cashing place, got as much money together as i could (sold my car, canceled insurance ect ect) and left the uk.
I have not been back since and dont want to go back, i now earn 800 pounds a month but my money goes soooo much further, i live in china and i am a teacher here, with no debt and a honest job.. with savings :-)
screw the uk, after 6 years of trying to find you they give up and delete you from their system, if they catch up with you in the mean time, they will offer you a choice to pay 50% of your debt and the rest is deleted (this is because if you can disappear for a year or more, then you can keep doing it, and they rather have some of it back than non of it back)
I only wish i had got more debt before vanishing, now my credit rating is destroyed in the uk, oh well. live life and enjoy it. |
