The best way is:

After having a job for at least 6 months, continuously, apply for small loans. You can find these everywhere. What happens is they report when you pay, therefore giving you a good credit score.

You can also apply for a visa card that allows you to pay $39.99 and they give you like $100.00 in credit. After paying for 3 or 4 months, your credit will be great! Good Luck!

If you are of age and have a job, buy a car.

You have to start small when establishing a credit rating. Get a credit card and BE CAREFUL with it. You will want to charge something on it and then make the payments regularly. Soon you will get a higher limit on the card. Then credit companies will be more likely to give you a loan. You need to know that one slip will stay with you for a long time.

Go online and apply for a credit card or google in credit card and I'm sure you'll get plenty of offers. Just make sure you compare the apr rates.

This is one of the most common questions on this board.

How do I build/establish credit?

First off you need to be educated about how credit works in the U.S. Every credit decision a lender makes is driven by FICO credit scores. You can go to www.myfico.com and look in the Credit Education section to learn how FICO credit scores are determined. To build your credit you have to place positive credit items on your file that will report positively for 6-12 months minimum. If you want your credit to be in the Excellent category (FICO score 720+) then your goal should be to have 3-6 revolving accounts(dept. store, gas cards, Visa. etc.) WITH NEAR ZERO BALANCES and 1-2 installment loans(car, mortgage) that are reporting positively.

I would start out with a Bank of America or Wells Fargo secured Visa card. Both banks have great programs with low annual fees, low starting amounts ($300.00) and no junk fees. After 12 months of positive on time payments you will graduate to an unsecured status. Then you will probably be approved for other cards such as dept. store and gas cards.

Good Luck

hi
the best way to do this is to go to one of the big department stores (Best Buy. Sears....etc) and apeopley for their credit card. in these big stores they want more ppl . therefore its more likely that you get approved immediately. In addition. if you have a family member (brother sister, or parent) who has a credit card. ask him/her to add you as an additional user to his/her credit card. temporally. its just to get your name started for the credit card companies
Finally my advice. be patient, cause it takes time. and don't apply too many times for the same credit card that didn't accept your application . all you need is one credit card, and they will all start begging you to apply for more

get a credit card. and when you get it, make the payments on time and never make a late payment. a credit card is a good way to get and establish credit

mortgageguru
Keep at least 30 percent available on any credit line. Never be late on rent or mortgage. Dont just close lines of credit. ... gosh, write me if you are interested in buying a home... I can tell tell you more on how you can prepare for that...

Open only one credit account. Make regular payments (more than the minimal; and before the deadline).

Get a checking account, or anything that can show revolving credit. Example: You put you pay check into your account, pay your bills with the checks or debit card, and then put in money when you can to show revolving credit.
