I was 4 day late on my capital one credit card bill ,would this have any affect on my credit report?

Maybe, maybe not.

But it may shoot your interest rates up to nearly 40%, check your terms and conditions to see for sure.

Banks/credit card companies have been given permission to run us into bankruptcy by Congress.

Doesn't that make you happy?

luciousgreeneyedlady
no, it won;t affect your credit report but you will get charged a late fee.

Nikki is wrong, it isn't reported to the credit bureau unless its 30+ days late.

you will probably be charged a late charge. But if you have always paid on time and this is the first time you've been late, call and they will probably waive the late charges. But yes it will have a effect on your credit it will go down as a late payment. So you need to call and see if they will waive it.

Not really but I wouldn't`t make a habit of it.

If you made all your previous payments on time and had the credit card for a long time I would call customer service immediately. Sometimes after looking at your payment history they will take off the late charge and it will then not show up on your credit history. It is worth a try. be nice and let them know you are sorry and it will not happen again- just an oversight on your part.

mariposa is the only one who knows what she is talking about.

Unfortunately the credit card company's are the first to report any small thing to the credit bureaus, it wont be much of one but you will have a late pay on you report

The won't report it unless it's over 30 days late. It may slightly affect your score for this month since your balance may be listed higher than normal. (The credit card companies usually report the balance as what is on the bill anyway.)
