It is not a hoax per say, but they are trying to sell you a timeshare. They will likely require you to attend a one hour timeshare presentation afterwhich, they practically force you to agree to purchase one. It is very difficult to get out of purchasing one, but it can be done. So, in short, yes you do get your holiday, but ask yourself if it is really worth what you may have to go through. And you probably will be required to pay for your own transportation and any port fees if it is a cruise. |

I used to work for a timeshare company and YES it is a hoax. You have not "won" any holiday. All they want to do is take you to Florida and give you the hard sell to buy a timeshare apartment. The itinerary is strict, you do not choose where you stay and you do not choose what to do. You are basically herded like sheep with 20 other mugs who have been stupid enough to sign up.
Steer well clear. |

It's actually not a hoax. It's a legitimate offer most likely. They send you down to a place (florida) and put you up room and board. You have to listen to their timeshare offer for a specific amount of hours per day or they can charge the card. Most people think "I'll go down, listen to their stupid sales pitch for 8 hrs. But I'm not going to buy anything and then I'll be able to hang out in florida" People who sell timeshares are some of the best salespeople in the world. Believe me, if you go down, you'll buy a timeshare, they're that good. They are willing to spend a little money up fron on thier end becasue they know, if you get in their office you're buying a timeshare. Best bet? stay home and don't answer the phone. |

more than likely it is a hoax to get you to buy something, like a timeshare. More than likely if you told them you were not interested in the timeshare, you wouldn't get the holiday. And more than likely they would take your small fee and run. |
|

Tim
|
If it was free, they would be charging you a fee. |

no they say it is free but you have to pay a small fee... it doesn't sound free to me.. it sounds like you are paying for a timeshare.. |

Yes it is if they're asking for your credit card details, nobodys generous enough to be giving out free holidays
And if you're in the UK then i'd like to inform you that we also recieve a call about something similar, Florida at a price discounted by 95%

Of course it's a hoax. I've won two lotteries and three cruises since Christmas -- and that's just from the spam that didn't get sent directly to the trash. |

free is when you pay nothing, a small fee is not nothing! this is a hoax...how did they select you to win? did you enter a competition or do you not remember entering anything? If you never entered anything how can you win???? its a hoax, they all are. |

Misty Blue

It's not a Hoax but they are getting you to go to a resort to do a Timeshare Tour which will waist hours of your vacation and in most cases sucker people into buying a timeshare for $30k.
Also they might be asking you for information to run your credit to see if you are able to afford buying a timeshare. They don't want to give away vacations to people who can not buy. |

Of course it's a hoax - they'll make you pay the small fee and your flights and then hound you when you get there.
The small fee being enough to cover the cost of accommodation of course! |
