The computer says "No".

SmartA$$
it might be that you have too much credit out. you owe money on a house and a car, maybe they think you are over-extended.

OR

maybe there is something showing up on your credit report that you don't know about. If you are certain that you have good credit but they denied you, it should be a red flag. This would be a good time to get a copy of your credit report and double check that there is nothing weird going on.

Spirit
You could ask them. You may not receive an answer.
From what I am reading you have a lot of credit out there so you owe a lot of money, maybe more than you take in the home in a year or close to it.
Many places will not give out further credit if you already have a lot of credit in case you lose your job, get sick, hurt, die, etc.

coolrichard2
No offence, but I think you would be considered high risk. Having a mortgage and a hire car in their eyes will be draining your income and might think you will struggle to keep up payments.

The Badger!
Well they see that you have loans when they do a credit search on you, and jesus are you sure you dont have enough credit already???? do you really need more??

zanthus
Likely the ratio of your current debt to income is too high for their requirements.

If you didn't disclose all your debts at the time you made application then you misrepresented your situation. Their credit check uncovered these debts.

That's probably why they turned you down.....for falsifying the application.

Credit Reports also take into account the amount of debt you have, i.e. loans you still have to pay on. Also, even if you didn't explicitly tell them about specific loans, that SSN of yours will tell them everything even if you don't. It's considered high risk if you have a lot of loans and/or debt and you cannot feasibly make more than a minimum payment on everything each month.

Suzee
I think Currys use a bizarre credit rating system. I've known people in the past who couldn't get credit there because they've never had any debt in the past, i.e. no track record of paying off debt

Ellie.
Check your credit records. But to be honest i would say you would be over committed financially and they are safe guarding against it,Firms are being more cautious now after so many people are going bankrupt.

m_c_m_a_n
You may just have too much credit out there right now or they may have entered the wrong SSN.

If you are that concerned, I would get copies of my credit from all 3 reporting companies. You are entitled to one free report from each company once a year.

I certainly hope nobody has been using your identity. That's why it's important to check your credit reports beyond just looking for mistakes.

You cannot borrow money indefinitely. They refused to give you goods on credit because you already owe to a few too many people.

If you don't have any other credit and you haven't missed any payments on your current credit agreements then I would get copies of your credit report from Experian and Equifax to check that there isn't anything incorrect on there.

Edit: ...why the thumbs down? Personally I think that everyone should check their credit report if they feel something may be wrong? Better safe than sorry.
