(Though if the thief can swipe it through a self-checkout and not get noticed, granted it works....)
Web/phone - sure
People keep talking about canceling the card - maybe it is a replacement card (current one about to expire) and the person is cutting up the old one? They may not want to cancel the account in that situation. If this is the case, cut up the old card AFTER it has expired - that way even if it is all taped together it can't be used. Cancel the account only if you truly want the account closed. |

did you cancel it? if the account remains open and they get hold of the card they can use the account # and security code on the back to buy on line or over the phone ,it probably couldn't be used person to person,so report it to the bank and they will re-issue a new # and cancel the old.............tom |
