If you have never acquired a credit card or obtained credit in your name, getting a loan for a new or used car can be tricky. When applying for credit, lenders assess your ability to repay the loan. To do this, they will review your consumer credit report. If you have no credit history, lenders may request that you obtain a co-signer, or deny your application. Here are a few tips to help you secure auto loan financing with no credit.

Apply for a Secured or Unsecured Credit Card

Before applying for a new or used auto loan, attempt to obtain a credit card, department store card, etc. Credit is important; however, getting your first credit card is not always easy. Similar to auto loan lenders, most credit card companies prefer applicants to have previous credit accounts.

To solve this problem, consider applying for a secured credit card. Before applying for the card, contact the company and inquire if the account will appear on your credit report as secured. Choose credit card companies that do not reveal that the account is secured. To creditors reviewing your report, it will appear as if you have opened and maintained an unsecured account. This will boost their confidence in your ability to handle credit responsibly.

Once you have obtained a secured or unsecured credit card, carefully monitor your spending. Having too much debt also has a negative effect on your credit. If you keep account balances at the maximum limit, instead of increasing credit score, you will be damaging your score.

Open a Checking or Savings Account

Even without a credit card or credit history, some lenders consider having a verifiable checking or savings account as a plus. Because having a bank account will boost your credibility, you may be able to obtain an auto loan if you have an account in good standing. Good standing means no bounced checks, overdraft fees, etc.

Apply for Auto Loan with a Co-debtor

If you are under 18-years-old, you will need a co-signer to obtain an auto loan. However, if you have zero credit history, having a co-signer is an effective method for acquiring credit in your name. Co-debtors may include any person with a good credit rating such as parents, spouse, siblings, etc. Individuals who agree to serve as a co-debtor should do so with care. If the primary debtor fails to repay the loan, you become accountable for the debt.

Usually unless you go through your bank most credit card companies won't issue you a credit card if you have no credit history. What you should do first is get a debit card from your bank where you have a checking account. Then you can start building up credit.

Number one rule with credit cards to avoid paying more:

Don't spend more than you have in your bank and can pay and pay the card off in full each month and do not carry a balance.

As long as you do that your credit score will jump. I'm 22 and have had a credit card since I was 19 and my credit score is already 748 which is considered great credit. Don't be eaten up by interest be smart and don't go into debt. with the looming recession coming, it is VERY important that you are in the black and not in debt.

Probably. CC companies "prey" on college students all the time. Most people don't have credit history when they go to college, but they graduate with credit card debt.

It may take a couple of weeks to actually get your card. If you're approved, be careful. Careless spending can give you a low credit rating, which will follow you for years to come. Always pay more than the minimum required payment. It is best to pay off your credit card balance in full every month, so you avoid paying interest.

You might get approve for a low amount. You should get the card within 10 business days. You will be able to use it as soon as you get it.

You'll find out quickly if denied. AND you'll have the right to get a free credit report to find out why you were denied. Once you receive the card in the mail, you activate it and can use it. Yes it generally is mailed.
Do you pay rent, utilities in your name? That helps establish your credit rating. Your limit may be low to begin with, then as you use your card, and pay off the full amount every month, you are establishing credit. The interest rate is high, so don't carry a balance for more than a month or two. Always pay more than th minimum payment requested.

I got my first credit card this summer and I had no credit (I was fresh out of high school). It usually takes about 2 weeks in the mail and you have to activate it when you get it and then you will be able to use it.
I would recommend not using it a whole lot on things you could just as easily pay cash or write a check for. It ruins your credit and then you get to have the fun of trying to buy a house later on in life.

there are a handfull of credit cards that will take the risk in approving you, it will take about a couple of weeks to get your credit card, check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com and go under poor or no credit section and you will see a few choices.

You'll end up paying, so make sure to pay MORE THAN the minimum amounts each month. The interest rate will be through the roof, until your score is better, with a good payment history. You can apply online, it is that easy. Pick a card / company that will be useful to your needs. IE: GMC, Disneyland, AAA, Delta-United, and so on.

You probably will get one, it will just come in the mail any time after you have been accepted then it will be activated and then you can go use it, but if you ask me i would get a debit card instead. Credit cards just pile up and you need to pay the bill at the end of the month, but with a debit it will immediatly take the money out of the bank.

Yes, you'd be able to use it right away, after you activate it by phone or online.
Usually, if you're approved, they get it out to you RIGHT AWAY, because they WANT you to use it.
If you don't see it within three to four days, you probably got denied and will get a letter in the mail saying so within like 10 days.

you can appy for credit and could be approved depending on the company your going with. you will find out when the company does credit checks. you will get the card in the mail in 2 3 weeks and you must activate the card before you can use it.
