thebayoffer | If I requested my first credit report (Experian) does that mean that I am not listed beforehand ? |
I am interested in using Experian for a credit reoport but I would like to know if by requesting my first credit report I am , in fact, letting Experian create a poor profile of me financially that otherwise would not exist? In other words would it be best to leave it a while until the point (on record) in my financial history is better ??

By requesting your report, you are simply registering a "search" on your file in your own name. It does not affect your report in any other way and the information that you have made a search on yourself is not available to anyone else.
If you know your credit history is poor, then it is a good idea to check your report thoroughly and regularly to make sure that it is correct. Even the slightest error regarding financial history, registered addresses, etc., can and may affect your ability to borrow or finance anything in the future.
I am a member and check once a month and they send me alert emails when anything changes on my file, so that I can double check things.
If you propose to finance and borrow money in the future, it is always best to have as clear a history as possible as lender will do a search on you. If the lender decides not to lend to you, that refusal will be entered on to your file and be seen by the next lender who you apply to . . . i.e. bad gets worse unless you clean things up and only apply for credit when you know you will be accepted. Conversely, the more you are times you are accepted, the more credit worthy you become. |

Requesting a credit report does not reduce your credit rating. |

it is a credit HISTORY report.
if you have had credit, then it exists, if you havent, then it doesnt. nothing you can do will affect that fact. |

Requesting a copy of your report doesn't affect your credit rating. If you've had some form of credit before you'll already have a credit history. If you've not then whether you ask for a copy or not won't suddenly create a record. |

Requesting a copy of your own credit report/score will not harm. The only time credit inquires count against you is when you apply for credit cards, especially if you apply for alot of them in a short amount of time. |

Well, I would say NO! They allready as most have said, they have you on file already once you have borrowed money. But, in general, don't worry about it. Beacuse in the long run they are mainly wanting twice back of what you accually have taken out. Read rippoff reports, Credit History and what not is bunch BS. I feel bad for anyone that is not smart enough to check their own credit for free, it a shame that they are paying these so "Called Companies" to do their fithly work. You can check your own credit for free and not have to pay these companies to do so. I am not against them at all. I am amazed at how much people spend on this credit crap fest when they can find out for them selfs. There is no Science behind it. There basically informaercial's. These comapnies are like those scams from Africa. |
