Policies differ between banks and each one may have a different policy. You should be entitled to get that dollar back if your card is valid, otherwise I wouldn't deal with the company, pure and simple! |

as in when you buy something? no, because when they do the main charge it takes that dollar as part of the total, so if your purchase was $63 and they did a 1 dollar authorize thing, they would charge you the remainder of $62 |

That sounds like a scam to me. I have NEVER heard of any comany "verifying the validity" of a credit card by trying a small charge. There are other ways they can tell. |

Yea, they do. Blockbuster charge a dollar to your credit card when you rent a game, but the dollar is refunded back to the card. I guess they want to make sure the credit card is active just in case they dont receive back their item they can charge it to the card |
