$1000 is only a few $$$ above the poverty level if you are single. You would be better off to rent while budgeting and saving. If you are like me and enjoy eating food, you might also look for a job that pays more money. |

If mortgage payments are $1,000 a month plus maintenance, taxes, insurance, etc., do you think you can get another job so you can at least earn $35,000 a year or more? I don't think you can even get into a mobile home.
But frankly, even if someone did some creative financing for you you'd be in foreclosure before you could blink.
Of course if you are ethnic and have a bunch of children then maybe the county will help you get into a place and at least for the first year the payments would be reasonable, but after that you'd be on your own. |

it depends; if you have established good credit or any kind of credit at all. Also have you ever purchase a house before or not plays a big factor. There are many government programs that assist first time home buyer. Check the local HUD or VA housing office. There is one in every state, and most of the time; they can help you obtain grants and other assistance programs that will help you start the process. There is always property investors dying to rent their properties; if you know how to approach them; you might get a really good deal |
