Usually not. If the store doesn't check the signature, they have to eat the loss. As soon as you report it stolen and you need to do that right away, the credit card company will begin checking signatures. If the signature doesn't match or if the store didn't get one, the store has to eat it and you don't have to pay.
My purse was stolen once, and my credit cards were used in towns I had never been in. Someone bought thousands of dollars of stereo equipment. I reported the cards and contents of my purse stolen, filed a police report and I didn't have to pay a nickle! The store that sold the theives the electronic equipment had to eat the loss for not checking the signature and ID. This happened to me so I'm sure of it. |

Yes, you should call the credit card company right away so they can freeze your account . |

I have good news. Most credit card company's will refund the wrong purchases made. You will have to cancel the card and set up a new one, and tell the company the last purchase you made-so they can deduct all after.
This is what credit cards are- and why you pay so much for them- SECURITY.
I don't know why other people are telling you otherwise.
Good Luck |

Most likely not. Call and report it ASAP!!!!!!!!! Most likely you have protection against fraudulent charges. |
|

Vanessa

that's why you would call your credit card company and have it canceled. |

matters if you have fraud protection or protection if you dont then you will have to consult with your bank to get some kind of refund, if they dont, find the stores they theif bought the items from and then get him on camera doing the fraud get the records of all the items and take him and your bank to court? |

No not if you call the cops and tell them, they will do some investigating. OR if you dont make a police report, and you cant prove it was stolen you might have to it could go on your record. you better cancel the card ASAP! |

Well first you should always call the credit card company right when you finnd out it's lost and report it, that way you wont have to, but if you have done that usually if you can prove it wasnt you that made the charges then they make you pay like 50 dollars or so, Call and find out about your plan. |

Each card is different. Call now and cancel it. Ask the card company about you liability. I once had $11,000.00 charged on my Am-ex card and paid nothing. |

The first thing you do is cancel the card. You are not liable for any charges after that. You also are probably not liable for any of the purchases before you noticed the card was missing and reported it. That last one depends on your card company though. |

You have to report it to the company as quickly as possible. If you promptly report it, that will limit your liability. But if you wait, you could wind up having to pay for it all, yeah. |

It's amazing and wonderful but you are just not held responsible for that stuff. You might have to get a form notarized. Make sure that you call them as soon as you know it's compromised. |

Most credit card companies do not hold you responsible for fraudulent use. However, it sometimes takes a little convincing.
If, for example, the last transaction before you report it stolen is a shopping spree at an electronics store, featuring an X-Box, Wii, and Playstation, with a thousand dollars worth of games thrown in, they may suspect that you're not playing fair. |

Did you call the credit card company and tell them already? You only have a short period of time before you become liable because you failed to report the card stolen. Hope you have zero fraud liability. |

Mich

yes you have to cancel it or report it stolen. good luck. |

Yes, you will unless you report it immediately and have it de-activated or place an alert on it. This will alert the store merchants and they will have the person arrested for you. |

Yes the card company will still charge you for those unscrupulous charges made by the thief. If I were you I will not pay and just cancel the card |

If you reported it stolen promptly, you are probably liable only for a limited amount. However, you should call your credit card customer service to find out for sure, different banks have different policies. And of course, report it ASAP if you have not already. |

Yes, you will. To prevent this from happening though, you can call your bank, or bill managing place to have them deactivate the credit card before anybody can use it, and cause to have to pay for what they bought. |

You have to call the company and tell them that its been stolen, they will cut it off so that nothing else can be brought, you might have to pay if you cant prove when it was stolen. |

Most credit cards have a $50.00 limit if your card is lost or stolen. That means, as long as you have reported your card as stolen, your only liability would be $50.00. Debit cards are not like this. If your debit card is used fraudulently, you are liable for the whole she-bang. The theory is that debit use needs a PIN, credit cards don't. You should be all right, but call your credit card company to be sure. |

Probably not, but it depends on the card issuer. Sometimes, they'll make you pay a token amount for each transaction, say $20 or $50. Sometimes, you pay nothing at all. |

do what the others say. The bank will have a department that will determine wiether or not you pay. To make your claim more substancial I would reccomend maybe filing a police report. |
