Yes they would. And even if they use their billing address you'd only be able to find them by proving to law enforcement that you are the real you and then they would have to force the credit card company to give the address of the identify thief. This can take years, however if you believe someone has this information you'd be best to report it NOW, before someone spends all your money and you have to deal with getting out of debt that is not your own and recovering your money! |

Immediately call Tran Union Fraud division at 1 800 680-7289. They will put a block on your account. Make sure you tell the credit bureau you want to be notified of any new inquires on your account.They should notify the other 2 bureaus for you. |

yes, they can cause you a lot of problems. there is a credit alert that you can sign up for . before credit is extended they will verify with you that you have in fact requested it. there is a small charge, but it's worth it for a year or so until this person is not a risk to you. the credit bureau's offer the credit allert/protection service. it's maybe 10 dollars a year ? varies a little on what package you select. |

If someone has your SS and your name they have your identity. Yes they could apply for credit and yes they could spend some major cash. If this has happened to you, you should immediately notify all three credit bureaus, so they will check with you before giving out your credit rating, they will also tell whoever is asking about your credit that there is a fraud alert on your SS number. Next notify the police because there are numerous laws dealing with identity theft. Next notify your bank. You should get all of your account numbers changed for both the bank and all credit cards. If you know who has your numbers be sure to give that name to the police. If you do these things right away you can protect your credit rating and save yourself a lot of problems with trying to fix things after the person has screwed up your credit. |

Yes they can apply credit. That is why it is best to buy a shredder and shred everything with any account numbers on them. |

yes.. as long as they have your basic info like address city state date of birth, some credit card companies match what you put on the application to whats on your credit report and would denie it for that little reason, i put one wrong thing on my app by mistake and it didn't match my report and got denied, some just got by your scored,, so u might get lucky.. |
