If someone knows they're going to die, what's wrong with them charging up their credit cards...?
and then giving everything away to people they love, with no intent of paying back the greedy credit card companies?
Additional Details
I should have clarified--I don't believe in God, and since I'll be dead, 'integrity' won't be very important to maintain at that point either.

I see this a lot and what the people need to understand that because someone dies the creditors don't send flowers and their condolences and even when they don't have a legal leg to stand on........ In many cases your family will fight for years to come with those creditors and collection agencies.

They will get harassed and worn out until one of them starts to pay.

Everyone says to send them validation of death but I have experienced where one family 5 years after the death of the father had to end up in court 10,000 attorney fees later just to fight with the creditor.

Besides the obvious unethical deviant behavior. Teaching people to steal and lie because their on their death bed is not a legacy you really want someone to remember.......... Doesn't matter creditors are greedy , your no different if you do what they do.

the people you love may enjoy the gifts now but 3 years from now they may be doing some serious hating as they fight it out with the multi billion dollar corporations . I have seen it and it is not pretty...........

I am not trying to put a damper on the shopping spree just telling you what I have had to deal with..........

This is an unethical thing to do.

Saying the credit card companies are greedy doesn't justify intentionally stealing from them just because you're dying. Your plan implies intentional stealing and stealing as much as you can get your hands on.

It doesn't matter whether you keep the merchandise for yourself or give it away.

If you want your last act in this life to be a thief, then I feel sorry for you. You'll certainly rack up bad karma that will follow you into another life.

Why not spend your last days volunteering and helping others? Your legacy will then be one your loved ones can be proud of.

I am going through a similar problem, my sister passed and now I am dealing with creditors. It is a nightmare so don't do it

I see nothing wrong with it unless another person is on the cards and will be responsible for the debt. In a community property state the spouse may have liability to the debt anyway. If there is an estate then the lenders will be able to file against the estate and the bills will be paid before the estate is disbursed. If the person dieing is like my dad and had no assets and his cards were all in his name only then why not. He was 76 years old with 10k in cc debt living on $1136 a month and his only life insurance was a burial policy for 3k. He lived with me for 4 years before he died. It took over a year before the credit card companies stopped threatening to sue me for his bills. I finally got them all to stop calling.

well, if you have assets and a family, they will be required to pay the debt off with stuff or money that you could of left for them.

Dear Ken, the Question itself is a reflection of the lack of ethics, and responsibilities of all the answerer's. Credit card co's are ran by people. The fact is this type of situation is one of the reasons cost of doing business keeps going up. So who pays for this? We all do, scamming any entity to help yourself, or others ,is something society eventually pays for in the end. When any company incurs cost, they attach them to the next customer. Whatever happen to integrity, honesty, and knowing right from wrong! I am very sadden that you, and the people who gave you those answers don't know the difference, or even worse Don't Care! So if your philosophy is scamming a c.c. co., why not rob a bank and give it to your friends, and family, it's the same thing!

There is nothing wrong with it in my opinion. It should'nt surprise you however that you're not the first person to come up with this plan and it is actually somewhat common. You just need to do some prior planning and get all your assets out of your name and into your childrens or somebody you trust. If you plan on screwing the government however, you need to do this five years before your passing, or they may try to consider the assets yours.

Fuch what the moral police here say. Does it look like the credit card companies are losing money? Hell know. Screw away.

chezzrob
its all based on the assetts of the deceased

the credit card sells the assetts to get their money

Honestly, I don't think there is ANYTHING wrong with that. Shoot, if I knew I were going to die, I would take out loans and open more credit cards just to share the love.

....I'm someone YOU love aren't I?

Becareful not to leave your family with your debts. In the eyes of God, this isn't ideal. You should only spend the money you have. If you want to give all your money away to charitable causes then fine, but charging credit cards and taking out loans, knowing you are going to pass, with no intention to pay them back, is stealing. God does not approve of stealing.
