It takes 7 for chapter 11, 10 for chapter 13, and you can get your credit up by going into your bank and open a secure credit savings acct a loan from yourself use any amount then you borrow from yourself then pay your self back this will boost your scores, then you can open a small acct anywhere and pay it on time lenders look at the trade line and how well you took care of the account if you have bk on you credit

It depend on if you filed Chapter 7 or 13
I think Chapter 7 is about 5-7 years and chapter 13 is only 1-2 years.

It will stay on your credit report for 7years. Some credit card companies will issue you a credit recovery card after a couple years, but look at the fine print. They usually charge really high interest rates and a high enrollment fee.

it will be there for seven years, but you can work on your credit by opeing a few charge accounts and do not go nuts and charge. Just put some things on them here and there, but pay the balances off every month. You can do that to re-establish your credit.

Seven years, but this will have a major impact on getting big ticket items in the future. Of,course you can get credit cards again, but it will take a while before you are able to. Just remember don't live through credit cards,if you can't pay the whole balance off at the end of the month, than you really didn't need to buy it in the first place. JMO

This is a three part question...The first answer is 7 yrs. Provided you have lived up to your requirements.

And yes you can apply for other credit cards, in most cases however you will certainly pay at the highest interest rate the law allows.

No, it will not effect your current bankruptcy

or if you try to buy a car they don't want to touch you, at least in my case they won't even look at me after they ran my credit unless I had a $1000.00
