Well yes since you will have another trade line and very low debt to credit ratio, but you will be missing the payment history part which makes up 35% of your score.
Simply use it for everyday things, never exceed 30% of your credit limit and pay in full before the due date.
Do this for several months and you will get offers for better credit cards and build your score.

Well, it might help a little since you have open credit but without using it you really don't build any history and are unlikely to get a credit line increase or be offered an unsecured card anytime soon

if that is the case then anyone could just get one or two credit card. don't spend on it just pay the annual fee. bang 2 years later you can apply for any loan you want. from my understanding when we build things we do something. doing nothing doesn't equal doing something. if we build credit that means we build credibility. how we build credibility? are doing nothing build credibility? i guess not.

Spifiman is correct.

no. you still have to use the card and pay it off to get the credit, but this has to be on going.

As far as I know no. The way you build your credit is to spend $5.00 on it, and pay it off the next month over and over again. Never spend more money then you have on you at the time. Then put that money away to pay the bill. Thats how you build credit

No.

No, because there are no transactions to show you pay your credit off or on time.
