Pay it, if you cannot afford it try to maintain the interest low by talking with the bank. Or borrow the 14,000 from somebody. |

Make an arrangement in your own mind as to what you want to do. Then keep a notebook (journal) and write in it the amount, check or money order number, and to whom these monies are to be paid. Do it each time you make payments and you will be satisfied, because you will have kept a record of documented payments. It will take time, but I believe that you can do it. Any other quick fixes are just not going to work. Greedy companies that charge high interest rates, will put you further under the rug with their still higher interest rates. Use your own common sense and be a winner, starting with this very day. God Bless. |

It depends on the number of credit cards you have and the amount of debt on each one. I like to pay the minimums on all cards except the one I decide to work on. I then make payments that are at least double the amount of the minimum payment of the card I am working on and pay more if possible. Get this card payed down and then put it away. Then you can take the amount you were paying on that card plus the minimum payment for the next card and begin paying down that amount. Continue the process adding the minimum payment from the previous cards to the next card and paying more if possible. On a $10,000 followng this formula I paid down the debt in about 3 years. However you have to be very frugal with your money. |

Pay your bills on time and try paying more than the minimum every month. If you own a home, you can take out a consolidation loan or a line of credit to pay them off, but be cautious that you don't fall in the trap of just running them right up again.
Get rid of open accounts if you have trouble controlling your charging habits. |

Well, most people would say consolidate your credit cards, but don't... 1.it would mess up your credit 2. It would make any employer think you are irresponsible, thus they won't hire you 3. It takes a lot of years to fix your credit back...
Your choices: 1.Get a loan to cover all or half of the debt (it's your best bet)2. Save every cent that you get including all of your loose change, and pay your bills with it even if you already paid what was owed for the month 3. Get an extra job 4. Find a government grant that will cover all, most or some of the costs (You will have to learn how to write grant proposals) 5. Let consolidation be your absolute last choice, but please try not to do it...you will ruin your credit...good luck (need more financial help, e-mail me)!!! |

Pay off the credit with the highest interest rate first but don't pay the minimum since most of the money goes towards the interest and not really to the items that you have used the credit card to pay it with. Then pay other credit cards with lower APR with the mininum balance or more if you wish too. This will help out alot!! |

Is this a trick question????
there is only one viable answer to this-----
PAY IT OFF!!
Use your tax returns, make extra payments to the principle, call and tell them that you want to pay it off and see if they will take a settlement or lower your interest rate.
But the only way to "Get rid of it" is to pay it. |

Ask the credit company if there's anything they can do to help you with your problem. State your financial record, and then ask if there's a way you can pay a monthly fee to get rid of the debt. Also, see a debt counselor and a lawyer, they can really help you, maybe even cut your debt in half. |

I had about 18,000 in debt (not all credit cards) Bankruptcy was a very hard decision but I decided it was my only answer. I went through Frank Skrupa in Omaha/ Lincoln (VERY nice guy!) The laws have recently changed and I guess now you have to take a credit class online that costs an additional $30 or so. The bakruptcy itself cost me about $700 and it will mark my credit for many years but in my situation, spending $700 was better than a lifetime of trying to pay off $18,000 in debt that I was unable to even pay the interest on. That was over two years ago that I did mine. I am now working with a bank on a house loan and if you start over...do it right. If you get any more credit cards, limit them to just a couple. NEVER max them out! Only use about 1/2 or less of your credit limit and always pay on time!!!This helps rebuild credit. |
