if you're in a mgmt plan, you have a debt mgr. call or go meet with them to get back on track or reanalyze your budget. defaulting won't hurt you... untill you do want to buy a house, a car or to get better paying jobs. to have old debt doesn't look good for job applicants.

WEll that is an attitude that gets you nowhere.
How about an ounce of maturity and responsibility that inspires you to pay of rightfuly what you owe.
The credit world is spiraling down fast enough, people like you make it suck 100x more for everyone else doing the right thing.
Suck it up and pay it off...it WILL in one way or another come back to haunt you otherwise.

the posts so far have summed it up quite well. when I went bankrupt they took the £2 worth of premium bonds I had held since I was 1 and sold them. so you think you're safe just because you dont own your own house. WRONG.

however, for "about 2 grand" no one is going to bankrupt you, and you cannot do it to yourself for such as small amount. All that will happen is your creditors will send the bailiffs in. how did you get into a "debt management plan" for such a small amount?

Yes you might not care now, but you will. Only 2K? Talk with them do anything you have to as stated right now you do not care, but in 5-10 years you will, especially if you have that special someone, or a family, think long term, think of your future, don't be a fool over a paltry amount. Yep cuts into your partying time and finances but so what. Time to grow up and bite the bullet, you will appreciate it in the long run

If you stop paying, there's a pretty good chance you'll be made bankrupt. Your trustee will find something for you to lose (including your car, clothes and computer - and it may cost you your job). And the chances of ever getting credit again are fairly remote.

Day time of the Night time
They are going to keep hassling you until you pay. You will end up with bailiffs knocking on your door and then you will have something to lose, they will take anything to pay off your debt.
Give them a ring and tell them that you don't have the money to pay and you want revise your re-payment plan.
I don't know much about debt management companies but I'm sure they aren't just going to go away and forget you owe them money.

if you stop paying your creditors then their solicitors will try get the bailiffs round, or issue a bankruptcy petition. they will take all assets you have, such as savings, car etc. to cover the cost of the debt, then seek to pursue you further through the courts. take some responsibility maybe, and pay it back - 2 grand is nothing compared to the debt a lot of people are facing nowadays,

You could bankrupt yourself but this also costs. You might not own your house but what about the stuff in it? Baliffs can come and take your tv, stereo, pc, games console, car!! Talk to the debt management company and see if you can make your payments any smaller. Its not worth losing everthing over, in the future you will have difficulty getting a mortgage and credit

If you only owe about 2g, you're doing far better things for your credit by finishing than by stopping now.

No matter how bad your credit is, believe me, they can make it worse with judgments, etc.

And do you want to buy a house within the next 7 years? Heck, is it possible that you'll change your mind about that?

You won't normally hear this from me, but 2000 ain't much and you're almost done, JUST PAY IT!
