Im only 19 but wanna take out a loan. where do i start?

Possibly open an account in a bank or credit union. A local credit union may be better for you. You should have some document showing your income. If not you may have to get a job or should wait until you get a W2. If this is for education look for educational loans underwritten by federal government.

Always think twice before you take loan unless the loan is for a housing property or a property that generates income or for education.

Start with a Store Credit card of even a GAS STATION credit card(BP,Phillips 66,Citgo) etc. They are generally easy cards to get and you can start building credit with them as long as you keep the min paid you will get offers

Start with a credit card... don't go to high at first, after your first couple payments on the credit card, close the account... make sure you have payed the card of first of course. If you have no credit at all, try through your bank, or try http://www.affiliatetier.com/redirect.php?red=credit1

If the loan isn't for school don't do it. If it is go to the school and talk to their financial aid advisor.

For personal loans, I know that Citi Bank is a very good place to go if you're young and don't have that much credit history. You can apply online or go to a local branch. My brother is also 19 and he took out a $2,000 personal loan to buy a used car.

If you need the loan right away get a co-signer.
If you want to build up credit start with a secured credit card.

If you have a small amount of money, deposit it with the bank.
See a loan officer the same or next day. and be up front. Say that you want to establish credit. Get a 90 day loan for a little less than the deposit. Agree not to take any of the original deposit back until the loan is paid. Pay the loan back in 60 days.

Up the amount of the deposit and loan, and keep doing it.
Get a couple of credit cards based on paying the bank, using them for a reference. You'll have a $20,000 credit line before you know it ! Then take care of it and always pay ahead of time.

Get an American Express Card after about a year of this business with the bank. AmX is a great credit reference, well worth the $55 fee each year !

Your bank! But I'd strongly recommend a Credit Union instead of a bank. You'll be an owner and will be treated like one! Better rates, no ripoffs, etc.

corbeyelise
Your bank.

First of all do you own anything by yourself? You will need to show your beacon score for credit worthiness and and be able to show how you intend to pay it back. The banks and loan companies all are in it for a profit so watch the interest rates!
Be very cautious of people willing to loan you more money then your able to afford! lol

REBELCAT
If you're only 19 & want to get a loan, you'd be smart to get your credit history if you hsve credit cards etc. If you don't have any form of credit history, you'd need to have a really good paying job & been there 4 at least 3-4 yrs, which is probely not possible, unless you have been working since u were 16 or so.
If none of the above apply to u, you'd need a co-signer(PARENT,GAURDIAN or Someone to vouch for your being able to pay this loan in a specified manner, or they'd be responsible 4 your debt.)
The best thing 4 u to do would be to build up your job credentials & probelly get a store card(such as Zellers or whatever & build up a good repayment record etc.)
I doubt if any bank or loan service would give a loan to someone as young as u without a good reason to do so.
Another thing to consider is "Did you have a student loan & paid it off on time." If you are still paying such a loan you're probely not a canditate 4 any more loans at your age.
GOOD-LUCK THO'. I'll be hoping 4 the best 4 U.**** REBELCAT.!!!!

By filling out a loan application at your bank!
