So a score of 480 is considered bad. You can be approved for some car loans with a large down payment and secured credit cards.
But as far as getting a decent interest rate, well that just will not happen.

No, 480 is quite a low score. The average in the US is about 675 (higher being better). The attached shows how the score is calculated and how you can improve your score.

I hate to tell you, but 480 is a very low credit score. You won't be able to do very much with a 480.
However, you might have a chance if all you want is a small loan for debt consultation. Just visit your bank, and talk to a loan officer about it.
I'm not sure how old you are, but many loan officers will lend money to young people so that they can build credit. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Anything below 600 is pretty bad, and you are really far below that. You might want to try a credit counseling service, but make sure it's a legit one.

480 is low. Is there anything you can do to bring it up? If you are behind on payments and can get caught up then that will help your score.
