Is 630 a good score on the credit report?

Not really. Some lenders (like the one I work for) look for a minimum of 640, others 620. You are right on the borderline. Anything from 640-699 is ok and 700 or above is considered very good and will likely get you better rates. I would find out why you are a 630 (delinquencies reporting? overextended credit cards? a lot of new debt?) and work on correcting those issues. Good luck!

NO. But it's not the worst you can get :-) Aim to get your credit score above 700 - preferably 725 (that's a popular threshhold for creditors / banks).

Most lenders like 720 or better.

why do i?

yes, it is good. i think that the best score you can have is 850. 650-670 is considered average.

Would you like to buy a house at a rate of 6.5%. If so, contact me at timothy.kazee@americanhm.com.

That is a decent score...but I can still get you a good rate.

630 isnt bad but not good. People who get the best rates have 720 with most banks some 700. The highest score you can get is 990 i think. Paying bills ontime and early really help your credit only using up to 40 percent of a credit limit makes you look good. Here is a good article that gives 7 fast fixes to your credit report

Its bad and the only loans you'll get will come with high and/or adjustable interest rates

The true question is the score based on all three lenders. The median of all three lenders will most likely be used in determining your average score. A score og 650 and above will help you secure most loans. In order to start saving money you need to mover well above the 700 range.
