A loan officer once told me that anything below 550 was considered "dead man walking." You should seek advice on how to improve it if you want to get any credit. |

No, it isn't. A credit score that low will nearly always get you the highest interest rate possible.

No it's not a good score, in fact it is considered HIGH risk. |

No.
Credit scores run from 300 to 850 with 675 being the national average.
At 536 you would be considered low level sub-prime. Very hard to get approved, high interest rates, huge fees and down payments required. |

No. 700 and up is decent.
536 is almost borderline horrible. |

A rating - is 720 or higher. This is where you can easily obtain financing at the best rate and can get approved by credit cards in a few seconds. A score of 750 or higher is considered excellent credit.
B rating - is a minimum score of 650. You can get approved, but you won't get the lowest rate.
C rating - is a minimum score of 620. You'll have trouble getting approved and interest rates will be high. In some cases you might even be asked to have a co-signor.
D rating - is a minimum score of 550. People in this range will have serious trouble getting approved and a co-signor will be required.
E rating - is a score under 550. People in this range will unlikely get approved for anything.
Hope this helps! |
