no. they don't take care much about your age. most banks won't even consider you for a loan until 650, and that's in the "C" range of credit. you'll pay a higher interest rate even at 23. 700 and above is a much better place to be. |

Not so good. Getting your credit over 625 should be a good short-term and very feasible goal. To do this, you should ALWAYS pay at LEAST double the minimum payment for all of your credit cards. If you happen to pay late on an account, pay it asap to keep it from going 60 days overdue. The more occurences you have of longer overdue payments, the worse your credit score gets. Better yet, if you know you can't pay an account on time, contact the creditor! You'll be surprised - I had some trouble when I was about your age and had to contact some of my creditors to give me another week to come up with a payment. Most of them worked with me and prevented my credit from getting worse. After about two years of on-time payments, paying more than my minimum, and keeping my revolving balances low, my credit score jumped from 523 to 730! So, it is possible, but you have to work hard to stay on top of it! Best of Luck!
PS - most normal bills like water, trash, phone, rent, etc do not report on-time payments to creditors! Some will especially if you are LATE, but if you are on time they don't bother.... |

No, it is not a good score.
Different credit companies use different scales, but the general numbers are between 520 and 820, with a semmingly endless amount of things that can sway the number up or down.. From simply not paying bills on time or at all, to your debt to income ratio, and even the amount of your credit card balances (alway pay on time, and never max them out).
As a young adult, your on a bad track.. pay off what you can and get it straightened out..
As the previous answer suggested, "not if you want to buy a house" : You'll almost always be able to buy a car or house with bad credit, problem is the interest rate and terms of the loan will be so bad that it will almost assuredly put you in a crunch come bill paying time, which just revolves the cycle and keeps the credit bad. |

571 is not a good score for anyone. Lenders consider any score under 620 as bad credit. 620 to 720 will get you good interest rates. over 720 will get you the interest rate you see advertised by Ditech and all the other lenders. The rate they show is for people who don't need loans and have large incomes. |

Not rally; that usuaslly means either you don't ahve a credit history or you have bad history. You should try to improve it by paying your bills on time; if you don't have a credit card; you should get one to increase your credit. Easiest way to better your credit is to have a phone/rent bill that is paid on time every month. |

no its poor, it needs to be 650 and up to be good |

Not at all. The average credit score is 650, and that is pretty low anyway. Work on it by adding a revolving account and paying on it on time monthly - don't pay it off completely each month because it wont help you much. But, do keep the balance low. |

Not really. It's a little bad. |

Nope. That is consider a rating of poor; age makes no difference. |

it's not Tier 1 credit, but it's enough to get you into a home, a new car, or anything else you wish to buy!
Try to get it over 620, and you'll be in much better shaper! |

awesome!!! Make it even better by getting a credit card and paying it off each month... |
|

Hmm.... it's okay. Kind of on the lower "medium" side. I would suggest what Salayne suggested: get a credit card (with a small limit so you know you won't go over-board) and buy little things, like a tank of gas here and there or something, and pay it off each month. But be careful, if you start using it as a "crutch" and start charging everything, and can't pay it off each month, it'll make your credit worse. Also, if you have a debit card, run it as a credit card instead of debit each time you purchase something with it. Financial advisers say that it actually helps your credit. Me personally, I'm too scared of owning a credit card - I'd probably end up getting in trouble with it! LOL....
The main thing is to get a line of credit that you make perfect payments on ... that's what really helps bring your credit score up. Like, if you have a car payment, be very diligent about paying it on time every month. Within a year, you'll really see your credit score rise. If you have any outstanding bills, pay them off! Also, stay away from those "buy here, pay here" places ... they don't help your credit at all!
Keep it up, and by the time your 30, you'll have excellent credit, and you'll be able to qualify at a lower interest rate and for bigger purchases, like a house, if you don't already have one! Good luck!!!! |
