Spanner!
Is anyone actually bothered about the credit crunch?
all in the media it seems people are running into their houses, absolutley terrified the economy is going to get them...

...however no-one i've ever met actually seems bothered. i still see people putting hundreds of pounds on their credits cards and eating out in expensive places etc. the only thing i've noticed is a few houses have come off the market. should we really be more concerned????

a lot of people are feeling it....and a lot of people are piling money on the credit cards due to having no in hand cash left in the bank....food prices and petrol prices have rocketed up, nd its alot harder to afford what i could before the price hikes.
people who eat out at expensive places are probably blessed to be on well paid jobs and aren't feeling the blow.

I am bothered, because of the credit crunch we have already had to make redundancies at the place where i work, looks like i will probably be the next to go as well so yes the credit crunch bothers me a lot!

We are in the very beginnings of the mess that is coming.

Glad to see that the US isn't the only nation that fell into the buy now pay later mind set.

The crunch is going to finish destroying our economy and yours will be next.

Good luck to us all.

I was talking to someone today who had been trying to sell their house but the deal had fallen through 3 times as the buyers were unable to get a mortgage that they would have got easily 6 months ago.

So yes, I would say that it does bother some people!

We are still in a spend now pay later culture, you can see from some of the questions on here that alot of people do not care if they have bad credit ratings and are trying to find out the best way of avoiding paying etc.

Not saying everyone is the same but those who live within their means will not be effected too much, we are still in a period of low rates and inflation historically.

Although banks have been made to face up to the responsibilities of irresponsible lending lets face it us as consumers have the responsiblity to live witin our means and make the right decisions.

Those who are being made redundant through no fault of their own is harsh but saying that I believe you make your own luck in life so I must say I am not actually bothered about the credit crunch!

the credit crunch, is just another media hype. Its cause they housing market as slowed down in the south. If it was happening in the north, northing would be mentioned.

I am. I've been trying to get my credit cleaned up so I can get into a home, I'm sick of paying for something I do not own. I grew up on a family farm and had a lifelong dream of building a home on it, buts its so much cheaper to buy a new home that is already up. its sad it has to be like that. But the whole credit thing is killing me, I send numerous VOD letters certified and get no responce back from the collections and creditors which is a voilation of the FDCPA, but when it is disputed with the credit bureas they verify it, and it remains, this is all due to campaign funds I believe. For fact when Clinton was runnign and she came into a crunch about 3 months ago with money to campaign, Transunion gave her over 300,000 dollars to help her out, so when there is a bill that goes thru for consumer protection against collectors, they simply make a phone call and ask well when you were hurting we helped you out, so you see its kind of like a silent bribe. The government is tied in with everyone, its sad it has came to this, Like I disputed one itme from a company called LHR which is a account I honestly do not have and have never had, The credit bureau repsonded back to me within 6 hours online saying it was verified and it remains, now how is that possible. MAybe the credit bureau owns the collection agency? But something needs to be done about this. I still do not understand the basic principal that if you have a little bit of a shady credit history and struggle to give your family the basics needs of life and daily living, should they be charged more for credit, its kinda like a price gouge that no one can do anthing about, becasue it goes back to the basic idea of(well its the consumers fault), there was a movie that came out called Maxed Out, I suggest wathcing this movie, its a real eye opener. All I can hope for is possibly getting some of my close to 40% of taxes back to help us out thru these tough times. Like everytime there is a disaster overseas, guess whos the first one there, we are, but when the trade towers crashed down, I do recall ever getting any aid from anyone else. No one cares about us. Where like the salvation army to the rest of the world, That is one of the reasons this country is owned be china

It does bother me. i've not been working for 4 months - I'm an office temp - because there are no temping assignments around. The people flashing their credit cards are gonna feel it. Very soon.

John S
we better as well get used to it, economy is very slow, no money no jobs.

what else, lenders will be very careful giving out loans, if they do its it always with a high interest rate.

It bothers me much, even though I haven't felt it yet. Praying not to.
