Yes. Thousands and thousands are in difficulty because they were sucked in by the numerous offers of instant cash. The old saying 'you don't get something for nothing' is as true as it ever was. The smart thing is to manage your money, not let it manage you. If you have got to the stage where it is causing you grief, plan a way out. No, not off a bridge. There is a fantastic amount of good advice available to those who are sensible enough to seek it. Start with Martin Lewis's website. There are also some good books in Waterstones/Smiths on managing debt. |

Nope, just a 30 year mortgage that we got 2 years ago and at the rate we're going will have it payed off by 2014. We saved up and payed cash for 2 cars, I'm paying cash for my college education by taking whatever classes I can afford at the time, instead of taking out student loans, and I'm an avid coupon shopper- average $50-$80 max. a month for all groceries, hba, pet food, etc for 2 people. It's just a matter of learning to live within your means while your younger (I'm 22 and have been married 3 years). |

The CAB have waiting lists for people seeking free debt advice. They have experienced knowlegable volunteers who help anyone that asks for help.
A Stitch in Time saves Nine --- Well, seek advice before you are in too deep to do anything about it. |

Let me tell you you are certainly not alone! I got into a lot of debt when i was 18 - i was offered credit all the time and naively i took it - "champagne taste and lemonade pocket!". I now have nothing to show for it apart from red letters coming through the door everyday!
Get it sorted before its too late x |

Yeh, I owe in £26,000 to Lloyds, Capital One, Vanquis and some debt collection company. I earn £950 a month so will take me ages to pay off. Have done a debt management plan with UK Debt Advisor so not paying any interest which should help. Also stopped them ringing me every other day. Still going to take me a few years to pay it off tho but dont worry your not alone! |

Nope, I only buy what I can afford, pay my credit card in full. Keep a daily journal of your spending and learn where the leaks in your budget are. |

I wouldn't say I'm in "loads". My wife and I have about $10,000 worth of credit card debt.
But we make about $65,000 per year.
So right now it's manageable. Just hoping the cars don't crap out or something. |
